Ryan endorses Romney
Rep. Paul Ryan this morning announced his endorsement of Mitt Romney.
The Janesville Republican at 7:56 a.m. today posted a link on his "Ryan for Congress" Twitter account to a story about his endorsement.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel quoted Ryan as saying that it's time for conservatives to coalesce around Romney.
"I think he deserves to be the nominee. I think he earned it. He has emerged as the best candidate," Ryan said in an interview with the Journal Sentinel.

Too bad Ryan voted for everything Bush wanted...Ryan was part of the Bush mess...

Excerpt from an earlier post by cottenjoe-
"Mouse, at least your consistent. Consistently illiterate"
I really try not to criticise EVER someone else's grammar, spelling, or punctuation because when I do, I usually make an error in the very sentence I've written. The sentence above contains one of those errors. When using the contraction " you are" the correct spelling is "you're". I seldom point this out to posters but your words to mouse were so rude
that I couldn't stop myself.

I doubt Ryan would accept the VP spot for 2012. Even if he has Patomac Fever, I think he is smart enough wait until 2016 and run as the person willing to clean up the Bush-Obama mess. None of the Republican Presidential candidates stand a chance of winning this year and Ryan wouldn't benefit by the mud-slinging of the current campaign.
If he were to run a decent campaign (schedule multiple debates with any opponents, and denounce PAC ads), I can't think of anyone who could beat him in 2016. He isn't politically chicken, like Bush1, or a perv like Clinton, or a puppet like Bush2 or a party hack like Obama.

Is Pick-Pocket Paul Ryan interested in a Vice-Presidential bid at this time? Does he feel his district slipping away? Do your older neighbors support him? Do your middle-class working "poor" neighbors support him? Do the wealthy "elite" media support him? Do Wall Street tycoons and insurance companies support him? Does he support bread and butter issues which effect you on a daily basis?

Good point on one TURKEY that is endorsing another. It might be better if he were to endorse a wine...like the EXPENSIVE $350.00 PER bottle of wine chosen at a Washinton DC restaurant, which came to $700.00 for BOTH bottles. This would be a perfect TV commercial for him. YES - a wine would be much better for him to endorse. Do the math and you will see that is MORE than what some families with a low wage make per week. The guy wants cuts to programs for the elderly and poor - a shameful act once again.

The more people choke on and rebel against Ryan's budget manifesto - the more Wall Street robber barons and Ryan's supporters think he's courageous and irreplaceable. How many people would willfully run up the national debt, refuse to pay for two wars, create unfunded mandated like Part D and then propose paying for it by pushing granny off a cliff while simultaneously handing huge tax cuts to millionaires? Only one. Paul Ryan. Courageous! Irreplaceable! A shining star.

JoyM said, "Poohbah - if birth control was more widely and culturally available throughout the world, then maybe some of those babies who are dying miserably wouldn't have been born in the first place."
The current Republican party platform [ http://www.gop.com/2008Platform/Educatio... ] states, 'We renew our call for replacing “family planning” programs for teens with increased funding for abstinence education, which teaches abstinence until marriage as the responsible and expected standard of behavior. Abstinence from sexual activity is the only protection that is 100 percent effective against out-of-wedlock pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS when transmitted sexually. We oppose school-based clinics that provide referrals, counseling, and related services for abortion and contraception.'
There is a huge, huge gap between your birth control statement and the Republican party platform on birth control. I hope you are actively encouraging the party to change its position on sex education and birth control.
JoyM said, "And the reason I got specific about gays being allowed to be married is that I think one can be conservative on fiscal matters and foreign policy matters without sticking our noses into other people's personal lives as long as it doesn't affect us adversely on financial or foreign policy matters."
But why did you only mention gays? Doesn't what you just said also apply to heterosexuals and opposite sex marriages? Or are you suggesting it's OK to stick our noses into the personal lives of heterosexuals and not gays? Why did you restrict your comment to a small percentage of the population instead of mentioning everyone's personal lives?

Poohbah - if birth control was more widely and culturally available throughout the world, then maybe some of those babies who are dying miserably wouldn't have been born in the first place. I am for quality of life, not life no matter what happens next. I hardly think I have made personal decision to starve people in 3rd world countries. In life we can each do some good, but we can't each do it all alone. Presumably you have some reputable charitable organizations that you support to the full amount of your ability. And the reason I got specific about gays being allowed to be married is that I think one can be conservative on fiscal matters and foreign policy matters without sticking our noses into other people's personal lives as long as it doesn't affect us adversely on financial or foreign policy matters.

I look forward to a Romney presidency. Other than short-sighted partianship, I'd think 15+% real unemployment, $4 per gallon gasoline, and an illegal health care law would be enough to change reasonable-thinking people's minds. JoyM said, "It doesn't matter if gays get married or babies are saved from abortion if we can't afford to feed the babies or if we all get nuked by North Korea."
In case you hadn't noticed, the world has already made a choice to not feed and care for millions of children being born. And it isn't because we can't afford to. 21,000 children under the age of 5 die every day in this world from malnutrition and other easily preventable causes of death. That's one child every four seconds.
And North Korea nuking all of us? That kind of hyperbole shows how desperate the fear machine of the American military-industrial complex has become when one of the greatest crises they can conjure up is an isolated, starving country nuking all of us...
It doesn't matter if gays get married? Why would you say that instead of saying, "It doesn't matter if anyone gets married?" How about dropping the wedge issues rhetoric?

Ahaha, moderate conservative...Romney? By his own admission he is a moderate progressive, not a conservative!

Midnight_Ride,
I am guessing you might be right. You might need a reality check. Obama doesn't alienate voter groups the way Rick Santorum does. Obama alienates people who are racist, people who are ignorant and think he's a Muslim (as if that should actually matter anyways), people who think he was not born in the United States, to a certain degree people who are very far left, and conservatives. However, with the exception of those who are very far left, every other "group" alienated that I listed are typically also conservative. (That does not mean every conservative could be described in the way I described those groups, though.) So, Obama is not really alienating too many people. The far left would absolutely vote for Obama over Santorum. In fact, they are quite likely to vote for Obama period, even though in their opinions Obama has made many mistakes.
If you don't believe my statement, Midnight_Ride, I point you in the direction of other typically conservative voters who readily agree with me.

If we want any hope of pulling some moderate voters away from Obama, we need a more moderate conservative who stays out of our bedrooms and private lives and sticks with the fiscal and international issues facing this country, and that would be Romney over Santorum. It doesn't matter if gays get married or babies are saved from abortion if we can't afford to feed the babies or if we all get nuked by North Korea.

This is almost as entertaining as a Swedish movie! A socialist conservative from the Midwest endorsing a socialist moderate from Massachusetts. I can't wait for the election between a socialist liberal and a socialist moderate. Middle class republican conservatives are scratching their heads trying to figure out exactly when the republican elites threw them under the bus... Tea party patriots are destroying their patriot fifes in protest...
