GAB predicts primary turnout of 30-35 percent
The state elections board is predicting a voter turnout of 30 percent to 35 percent in next week's primaries.
That would equate to between 1.3 million and 1.5 million of the state's eligible voters.
The Government Accountability Board issued its turnout prediction Thursday. The GAB had also predicted a 35 percent turnout ahead of last month's presidential primary election, although the actual number ended up closer to 25 percent.
Tuesday's primary will feature four Democrats vying for the chance to unseat Republican Gov. Scott Walker in a recall election June 5. They are Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk, Secretary of State Doug La Follette and state Sen. Kathleen Vinehout.
Walker faces Arthur Kohl-Riggs in a Republican primary.

As I have said many times, if Walker gets beat, I will live with it...also have posted many times that I have no problem with the recall, as that is how our system works...
When Walker does win again, I will look forward to seeing your recall petitions for Santa Clause because you didn't get what you wanted..
We will then see who is laughing what off...

Any government that goes against the People's right as to our constitution has no business in office. Those who support people having no rights need to join up with them and find an Island where you can all have a good time. The GOP are taking any any every right away from people and those who can not see it or say they are not need to read and watch more then Fox to get the whole story as to what is actually in the bills your soon to be gone GOP are FORCING on America. RAF and usaret do you think your wife daughters and other female friends should have the GOV. control her decisions? I would ask wislady but i don't think she has a clue as to the truth in its entirety of what WOMEN are really losing. If she had any inkling it would surprise me as she sure don't stand up for the species of her kind. I hope you who support Walker and the GOP have no children and elderly in your life as the GOP will suck the life right out of them. Wislady *smart* NOT ? Have a nice day.

Arthur- Kohl Who? Kathleen Vinewho? With a predicted voter turnout like that(30-35%), most likely change is not in the Spring winds. I hope that all the hot air and rhetoric of the past year will get a few potatoes off the couch and out to vote. I don't recall but weren't there nearly 1 million recall signatures? Where are these people now, they can't all be in the cemetery. Will you make your vote count?

Joe McC - As the Rock County Clerk, you're only 1/2 correct. One of the Primary functions of the GAB is to collect all election data for all 72 counties and report/certify state and federal elections. The are the oversight board for the State and administer elections and provide the regulations that we operate under. You pay for both because the GAB is an adminsitrative arm of the State and the County Clerk is an administrative arm of the County. Rock County is prepared for a much larger turnout, should we have one, but 35% is pretty accurate. You are correct in that the Municipal Clerks and myself determine how many ballots to order and how many machines we have (always 48) in the County, but the GAB is the oversight Board that tells us what we do. The GAB also 'owns' the Statewide Voter Registration System that we manage voter registration in - so our relationship is close. I am a Clerk Trainer for the GAB and appreciate their function...there are MANY other functions such as operating as the filing officer for State and Federal Candidates, Campaign Finance and Ethics...but elections are one of their main gigs, which includes predicting voter turnout based on historical voting data. This election has no historical baseline - so it's truly anyone's guess! Just remember though, anyone who places a bet on the outcome of an election is NOT allowed to vote:-)
