U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan is beginning two days of listening sessions in his district.

The Republican been widely whispered about as a potential running mate to presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

His office says he'll visit Muskego, Elkhorn and Kenosha on Thursday and Janesville, Mount Pleasant and Greendale on Friday.

In a statement, Ryan says the sessions provide him an opportunity to discuss the major legislative proposals before Congress, answer questions and address concerns among residents.

He's also expected to talk about solutions to balancing the federal budget.

Probably due to the fact that rodents have small brains(clearly in this case) or maybe it got its tail caught in a trap something...but just ignore the rodent, its not worth your effort and if you look at its posts its very clear, that its just doesnt understand, kind of like explaining math to an infant or a dog...sure you look smart but the baby or the dog just looks confused.

SarahB1 - and the biggest factor of this was not so much when it was made mandatory to have auto insurance, but when the minimum coverage requirement was raised. Obviously that is one of the number one contributing factors that pushes your premiums up.
-
Increased mandatory liability limits
Effective January 1, 2010, section 2962t of Act 28 increases on minimum coverage limits for auto liability policies, which have remained the same for more than 25 years. Newly created sec. 344.01(2)(am)2. requires that polices must cover “$50,000 because of bodily injury to or death of one person in any one accident and, subject to such limit for one person, $100,000 because of bodily injury to or death of two or more persons in any one accident, and $15,000 because of injury to or destruction of property of others in any one accident.”

SarahB1 - If the price goes up, how is that benefiting the insurance companies? That simply means less people will be able to afford the premiums. The big insurance companies don't want their clients shopping around and there are now more options to have it quoted on than ever.
-
Again, don't take my word for it. Go talk to an insurance agent. The first thing mine told me was, yep American Family and the other big ones premiums went up substantially when the law took effect and many went elsewhere.
-
Point is, this isn't an issue that just showed up under the current administration and blaming that blame game is ridiculous.

Mouse - And by the way, when you have less people buying cars, homes, toys, etc you have less premium money coming in. Add that to massive destructive storms and wind, hail damage last year, American Family paid out a record 1.2 billion dollars in claims. Do the math Mouse. When you take in less money, you can't right checks out for more. Well, according to your philosophy you can. After all, it's not your money. Spend away Mouse!

Mouse - You just proved how completely out of tune and uneducated you are on subjects. I just called you out with your blame of American Family layoffs on the current administration and you come back with your two year old "stupid" comment. Doesn't take a genius to figure it out Mouse. You make it mandatory that insurance coverage goes up, guess what rocket scientist, so are your premiums. When the Government gives the insurance companies no choice, that is what happens. American Family and State Farm and some of the bigger companies, saw impact with this. That's why there are many more insurance brokers out there now dealing with multiple companies that can bid on your policy. Again, I know you won't actually take anyones word for it, including an insurance company. Mouse, the education system failed you. This was all effective January 1st, 2010.

I work so I can't go and hang out with a bunch of old people and Paul Ryan but he seems to be against freedom. In the USA I don't understand how anyone can be against freedom. Google NDAA and CISPA. He talks about reform - never accomplishes anything in the lines of reform. What he does accomplish is votes on big spending and for more militarization of government against the people.

Mouse - American Family job losses? Fact, when it was made mandatory that auto insurance coverage be raised under Doyle, American Family's policy costs went up significantly. Don't believe me? Go ask any insurance agent. They lost a ton of clients because of the rate increase. I believe everyone should be required to carry insurance, but this law change opened the door for more insurance companies and competition and put a hurt on some of the big name ones. So before you go on another one of your "blame Ryan and Walker rants for all the Worlds problems", think for a second.

GM's issues go far and beyond anything at a local level and you should know better than that. GM's failures came from within the company. A company that was mismanaged, cross branded and destroyed from the top down. I feel bad for all the workers that were screwed over. You blaming a local politician is over the top. There are plenty of non-union, private businesses that employee thousands locally that are going strong. For that, I am thankful.

Morality?

Dem Group Launders Money to Veil Source of Negative Ad

"When the Democrat Governors Association wanted to launch an attack on Governor Scott Walker they chose to launder money through the Greater Wisconsin Political Fund to make the ad appear Wisconsin-based. On April 23 the Greater Wisconsin Political Fund took credit for airing a negative ad that became the first ad of the recall election to focus exclusively on attacking Governor Walker. Campaign finance records show that the money behind the ad actually came from the Washington-based Democrat Governors Association.

Prior to this ad negative attacks ads on Walker had coupled the attack with a quick promotion of a Democrat candidate. Wisconsin for Falk, a super-PAC funded almost entirely by state and national labor money, has used this model to attack Walker while simultaneously promoting Democrat gubernatorial candidate Kathleen Falk.
Greater Wisconsin Committee Ad Disclaimer

Greater Wisconsin Committee Ad Disclaimer

The relationship between the DGA and the Greater Wisconsin Political Fund is noteworthy because the Greater Wisconsin Political Fund is the vehicle of choice for Wisconsin liberals who want to run hyper-negative and factually inaccurate ads without putting their fingerprints on the ads. Repeatedly, Left-leaning good government groups and the press have blasted the fund for resorting to severe distortions of truth and outright lies to attack conservative and Republican candidates."

I won't give you a break. My criticism of your disingenuous attempt to re-characterize your original comment has nothing to do with whether or not Ryan has been slammed on here. It has to do with you trying to revise what you actually said. I guess I need to put your comments right next to each other for you to compare.

Your original comment, in full:

"poobah - I find it interesting you are ridiculing someone that proposed a budget, when the President of the United States still has no solution to a budget set in place. Now, you may not agree with Ryans budget plan, but he at least has proposed one. I guess we don't need a budget. It's quite obvious that's how many posters on this website run their personal finances."

And here's how you attempted to re-characterize your comment after I explained to you that my comment was an excerpt from a letter written on behalf of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and that it was them, if anyone, ridiculing Ryan:

"I was merely pointing out that you and many others, have ridiculed him for his budget numerous times before."

That is not what you were doing in your original comment. Your original comment never mentioned many others ridiculing Ryan for his budget; you mentioned only myself ridiculing him. I hope there will be a Catholic bishop attending one, if not all, of the listening sessions to tell Ryan that his budget plan fails to meet the moral criteria offered by the bishops.

An excerpt from the April 16, 2012 letter sent to a congressional committee on behalf of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops by Most Reverend Stephen E. Blaire, Bishop of Stockton:

"Prior to the House considering the budget resolution, the bishops offered several moral criteria to guide these difficult budget decisions:

1. Every budget decision should be assessed by whether it protects or threatens human life and dignity.

2. A central moral measure of any budget proposal is how it affects “the least of these” (Matthew 25). The needs of those who are hungry and homeless, without work or in poverty should come first.

3. Government and other institutions have a shared responsibility to promote the common good of all, especially ordinary workers and families who struggle to live in dignity in difficult economic times.

Congress faces a difficult task to balance needs and resources and allocate burdens and sacrifices. Just solutions, however, must require shared sacrifice by all, including raising adequate revenues, eliminating unnecessary military and other spending, and fairly addressing the long-term costs of health insurance and retirement programs. The House-passed budget resolution fails to meet these moral criteria." [ http://www.usccb.org/issues-and-action/h... ]

It's time for Ryan to hear that the voters of the First District have had enough of him and his immoral budget plan.

Take from the rich and give to the poor. Okay, then what. The poor in Obamaland are still poor and there are more of them. Now what?

Kaysbrew: How many millions does it take a corporation to have before it starts creating jobs? Giving tax breaks to corporations does nothing but line their pockets with more profits. Money in their pockets but squash the worker so they stay in that poverty bracket. The story of businesses creating jobs and therefore our tax money has to go to them is getting real OLD fast. And how is that great American company Apple working out for you. Avoiding corporate taxes by setting up accounts in other countries.

Why? He only listens to lobbyists who represent the wealthy and corporations. He certainly does not listen to Wisconsin residents. His so called budget is nothing more than reverse Robin Hood. Taking from the poor to give to the rich.

Democrats still have the Presidency and the Senate. Not very much the Republicans can do.
We have no idea about the Democrats budget because they haven't passed one in 3 years.

Because the Democrats don't want to go back to the 2008 spending levels.

One question I would like to ask, if I had a chance, but probably won't get one.

"Is it true, that when the democrats passed the stimulus about 800 billion in 2009 budget, that a continuing resolution for 2010 was another 800 billion, and 2011 was another 800 billion, and 2012 was another 800 billion? If this is true, is this why the senate stonewalls passing a new budget for the last three years"?

(follow up question)
"Why are the republicans no longer talking about going back to the 2008 budget"?

If you think there is a wealth problem mouse, work harder. Work smarter. Yes, Capitalism does prune out the lazy. Conservatives hope you try. Liberals hope you give up.

Ryan talking about balancing the Federal Budget on the backs of the old, sick, poor and kids education.

Let's break this down shall we.
-Old: Obamacare installs a 15 member death panel appointed by the HHS. Obama told one gal in listening session her mother would have to "take a pill".
-Sick: ObamaNoCare. (period)
-Poor: Nation is more poor under Obama then it ever has been in history. More Welfare and they even have a website to join in. Plantation Politics at large.
-Kids Education: Act 10 working in Wisconsin - Neveda lost to unions and now lays off hundreds of teachers. Not to mention our own state in cities that rushed to re-sign contracts. They are desperate.
Kids: Democrats are the party for Abortion.

Tell me mouse, how do you help the poor when you are bankrupt? When the money is used up without reform, where will it come from?

Since you're having so much fun, Raffy, I'll repeat my comment for you.

Remember his last "listening" session? He did the talking and everyone else listened.

Looking forward to seeing the videos of Ryan's guard handcuffing his constituents. No room for dissent in his plutocracy.
