Milwaukee group behind anti-teacher flyer
An anti-teacher flier distributed over the weekend in Janesville is the work of a conservative Milwaukee organization with local representation.
Citizens for Responsible Government, also known as CRG Network, filed a freedom of information request with the School District of Janesville on March 29, said Brett Berg, spokesman for the district.
Those figures were used to create the flier, said CRG Executive Administrator Chris Kliesmet.
“The group and its representative, Orville Seymer, filed a freedom of information request for a list of all Janesville district teachers, their job titles and annual salaries,” Berg said.

oh, another comment for the person in the story who just didn't know where the anger was coming from, tho I don't know exactly what anger she was referring to. Perhaps the teachers parents don't want teaching their children are the ones who attended WEAC's training session with the Industrial Areas Foundation at the end of March. The Industrial Areas Foundation is a self professed Marxist group. Even tho this FACT was not printed in the Gazette or other papers, many people are aware of it. While teachers as individuals or groups are free to associate with whom they please, so are parents, and by extension, their children. I choose NOT to associate with Marxists. I consider them to be traitors, and if I had children in the school system, I would not want them taught by Marxists, either.

It seems that if these citizens were truly in favor of responsible government, they would want to know why Walker lied to the people of Wisconsin, why he lied to Congress under oath and why he felt he needed a secret e-mail network to communicate with his sycophants, etc. instead of being engaged in illegal activities in the dark of night.

I arrived home after a vacation to find this ridiculus flyer attached to my mailbox. I am now interested in knowing the salary and benefit packages of workers employed by some of the Rock County 5.0 people. The ones I want to see are the companies that build schools, goverment buildings and roads- mainly JP Cullen and Rock Road. My guess is that the salary and benefit package for construction workers and road construction workers is similar to that of a teacher. Both can be govenment funded. The difference being that construction workers are often "laid-off" during the winter and are forced to collect unemployment while the teacher during the summer does not collect. Here we are folks- "divide and conquer" strategy. Walker has forced us to make these comparisons. Very very sad.

yep, 4 bucks on top of hourly.. no time and a half or anything.. I'm glad you saw something orderly and polite. Did you see the link? this was at Madison. I wasn't at this one, but when I was there, someone twice tried to unplug the speakers.. cops took them away. Union chanting in the background made it hard to hear. So, maybe you only did see polite, orderly protesting, but trust me, that doesn't mean the other kind didn't exist, any more than the fact that this paper and others didn't report it does. For the record, I think most teachers do a good job, and in many cases may be forced into teaching things they don't believe in, or in ways that they don't believe in. It happened to me as a daycare teacher too many times. Also as a teacher aide in 3 years of 'aiding'. I just never understood why I didn't agree with what I was doing.. now I know.

and yep, divide and conquer is what the liberal media want to do.. time is probably better spent asking yourself why. I have my own opinion why, but best everyone comes to their own decision on that.
Hire patriots only? Hire only people qualified and willing to do the job.Whatever the job is. Good, qualified teachers don't push their own political agendas on children and they don't let others do it either.. and for the record, I do believe most teachers are caring people.. who do NOT believe their job is to change the values children get from their parents.. contrary to what their education professors have told them.

Fedup, thanks.. I posted something similar, but with more info, and gee, it never appeared.. I'll try again.
Ms. Shulte. the intense anger comes from a backlash against what happened in Madison. I was there, there were people identifying themselves as teachers, and they were acting like a mob.Part of the mob was so violent that staff members of a state legislator were forced to hide in a back room quite literally in fear for their lives. I received emails from them as it happened. This and the vandalism that has happened around the state to those who support Walker explains why people want to remain unknown My unposted comments also pointed out that if the paper cared about news or providing useful info, it could have printed the salaries, with info on # of hours worked, continuing ed, etc. People then could have formed their own opinions. Which certainly is NOT what the Gazette wants.
I guess I should be flattered??? Apparently the points in my previous posts were so salient that the gazette feared printing them.. WOW! Thank you..Miss Babor, Mrs. Thorpe, Mrs. Landon, Mr. Zaugra, Mrs. Calkins, Miss Hargrave for teaching me how to write so well.. and most of all Thank You Mrs. Trapp for that unit on propaganda that you taught back in 68-69 at Oak Crest Junior High. in Beach Park Illinois -now that's what I call an education

Let's inspire the best and brightest high schoolers to be teachers. You don't do that by making the job one with poor salary and benefits. I don't think any of these salaries are out of line. If you want a teacher's salary, then go to school and be a teacher. Your school board negotiated these terms. The school board reflects the wants of the community as they are elected. So what's the problem?

This will be interesting....and Zelinski is part of it. Who contacted who??
19-year-old in trouble for allegedly trying to sell Rep. Party info.
MADISON — A Wisconsin Republican Party volunteer is accused of trying to sell sensitive information to the state’s Democratic Party, but the other side didn’t go for it.
19-year-old Erik Turner is an open supporter of the Republican Party. His Facebook profile shows him with Scott Walker. His car is littered with pro-Walker stickers, and for a time, he volunteered at the Waukesha County Republican headquarters.
Now, Turner is under investigation by Milwaukee County’s District Attorney for allegedly trying to sell access to a Republican Dropbox account. It all started when Democratic spokesperson Graeme Zielinski received an email with an offer to buy the information.
Court documents didn’t specify whether the email was sent from Waukesha’s Republican headquarters. However, they do say it was only one of four places that it was accessed.
A search warrant obtained by FOX6 News states Turner sent two separate messages soliciting a deal. Those documents show the first email sent on February 26th to info@wisdems.org says “I have the Republican Party of Wisconsin’s Dropbox password, and account. I’m willing to sell it to you for a certain price. This is not a joke.”
A second email was sent March 2nd directly to Zielinski. It contained a similar message but added: “This could be used to your advantage if you knew what to do with it.”
FOX6 News tracked Turner down at his home, but he wouldn’t acknowledge the situation, saying only “no comment.”
Wisconsin’s Republican Party would not go on camera, but released a statement saying: “The Republican Party of Wisconsin does not condone this type of behavior from anyone. As soon as we were made aware, we reported this incident to the proper authorities.”
The state’s Democratic Party is also being relatively tight lipped about the situation. At first a spokesperson had agreed to an interview, but later called back and said instead the party has no comment at this time.

Perhaps we should get the names and salaries of all Dean and Mercy employees and publish that information. After all, my tax dollars pay the medicare that pays their salaries. Or, for those who think this is so fair, perhaps you should publish your salary and name for everyone to see. Nope - this is dirty politics and should be outlawed. This was not the intent when things like "freedom of information" was created. I'm not sure it is "hateful", but is sure is "spiteful".

And, for the record, I think for20+ years and an advanced degree, teaching full time, coaching 2 sports, and teaching summer school, I think $70k is not only reasonable, but probably quite low.

Possible sources....
John Barrett (brother of Tom Barrett). who is Clerk of Circuit Court/Director of Court Services for Milwaukee County
The wife of David Budde(chief investigator in the John Doe) She is a clerk for one of the Milwaukee County Judges)
Tom Barrett himself, from information received from John Barrett.
The John Doe probe was focused on campaigning on the county clock, by people who worked for Walker during his tenure as Milwaukee County Executive.
The gathering of recall signatures in the offices of the investigators was said to be ONLY on the lunch time and not work time. Anyone believe that?

Why do these Walker supporters continue with the "You don't have it, why should they" rhetoric? Remember that these "salaries" likely include all of the coaching of extra-curricular activities (most teachers work long days plus grading and lesson plan preparation at home) and pay from teaching summer school (yes, there are a lot of teachers that teach year-round contrary to popular belief). The "benefits" include the artificially inflated "health insurance" costs (the over-charging for the district's self-insurance is what creates the Fund 10 balance). Before anyone thinks that switching to a Dean or Mercy plan saves any money, remember that the district is "at cost" right now and keeps the leftovers when costs are below projections (which they almost always are). Once it goes to private market, there's no more leftovers.
I'd love to see someone show salaries for those of us in the private market - show what folks with a Masters degree gets paid and what a Bachelors degree gets paid - I have just a Bachelors and I make more than any teacher on that list (and I'm thankful for my high-quality public school education and my parents' committment and involvement with my education). Education makes life better - it is the key that opens doors. Those who complain about teachers and the public school system tend to be those who undervalued education, made poor choices, and ended up in a position in life accordingly. I honestly hope Governor Walker and his minions don't destroy the public school system - once you eliminate that opportunity that everyone enoys, only the rich will be able to afford quality education for their children and there will be no more level playing field. While not everyone takes advantage of their educational opportunities, everyone at least has that chance right now.
