MADISON, Wis. (AP) — President Barack Obama’s three visits to Wisconsin over five days are certainly designed to insure he wins the state and its 10 electoral votes.

But Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Tammy Baldwin is hoping for a boost from Obama in her even tighter race against Republican Tommy Thompson.

Polls show both races are close, although in the most recent Marquette University Law School poll Obama’s lead was twice that of Baldwin’s.

The 14-year congresswoman appeared with the president in Green Bay on Thursday and with Vice President Joe Biden in Beloit on Friday. She is also going to be with Obama on Saturday in Milwaukee and in her hometown of Madison on Monday, the day before the election.

Thompson was with Romney Friday at State Fair Park.

Regardless of who Wisconsin votes for as President, I hope they do not party line vote and put Baldwin in as Senator for 6 years. If she is the new face of Wisconsin ... I have lost all desire to establish residency here again. Far too liberal and accomplished little of nothing in 14 years in Congress. For those who slam Thompson for making millions from his connections .... how many of you would not do the same if given the same opportunity? Look deep and be truthful now. Most of it is sour grapes. Literally millions and now billions are now spent to get elected and re-elected ... Not cost-justified by the wages (although congressional and presidential retirement packages are pretty lucrative ...I believe Obama would get something like 181K per year plus fringes immediately above leaving office be it now or in 4 years. Romney does not have a government pension because he did not take a salary as governor). As for the common man ... I just turned 62. My company pension was just cut in half .. I have to take social security at age 62 at 70% for the rest of my life to replace most of this reduction. On the bright side, I still have some pension and social security. At the rate this country is not addressing the problems on both sides of the aisle, my children and grandchildren will not be able to say the same. So let's tax the rich some more. Saw one study that showed that the amount extra they would get would pay for 11 HOURS of government. So does not help but makes great soundbites playing that class warfare and pushing grandma off the cliff scenes. Sick and Tired of all the lies and half truths from both sides of the elite politicians.

You can tell Obama's wisconsin following is on life support because why else would he need celebrities to promote his candidacy.
