JANESVILLE--With 22 of 24 precincts reporting, Democrat Deb Kolste was well on her way to defeating Rep. Joe Knilans in the 44th Assembly District.

With 92 percent of the precincts in for the district, which includes nearly all of Janesville, Kolste had 15,348 votes. Knilans, the Republican incumbent first elected in 2010, had 9,431 votes.

Kolste attributed her victory on Tuesday to her message on workers’ rights, fairness for the middle class, preserving the state's education system and ensuring some form of health care for everyone.

"...how does health care remain high quality?"
-
The really scary part, AnneS, is that we'll need to rely on negative self-serving people like you to provide that level of service!

My apologies if I sounded meanspirited. I do believe in giving the best care that I can to all my patients, and I do volunteer. I just don't believe that "Big" government knows best about how to deliver high quality care. I just am concerned about who is going to pay for all the freebies, and when the money runs out how does health care remain high quality?

Congratulations, Deb. It's nice to see the superior candidate actually win in this city.

Wow! Blowing constituents off from your brothers basement command center has consequences? Who'd a thunk. :D I'm glad neither Sheridan or Knilans are representing my neighbors! Do the same to Kolste if she doesn't work out! To bad we can't keep the door swinging on a larger scale. Holding representatives responsible for their actions and leaving them in fear for their jobs could create that cooperation to do the will of the people that current partisanship lacks.

From reading her ideas and intentions, she seems like just another loony.

Congratulations Deb!! I voted for Knilans two years ago and ended up sorry that I did. IMOP he didn't think for himself or act in the best interests of the majority of his constituents. Actions (or inactions as the case may be) have consequences and now the time has come to pay the piper.

AnneS~ Deb Kolste helps out at HealthNet here in Janesville. Her husband, Dr Rex Kolste is the reason HealthNet is available. HealthNet has NEVER given away "dirty needles." HealthNet is a non-profit organization that provides FREE healthcare and helps patients get much needed medications. I volunteer at HealthNet when I can. AnneS, why don't you come volunteer at HealthNet? We need all the volunteer nurses that can help.

Congratulations Deb!

TPaine....and her email. Joe couldn't even send a form email response. My advice to Joe is stand up for yourself instead of being a freshman lackey.

Congratulations Deb! You are fine, decent, smart lady, always there to assist anyone in need, without giving away the farm. Joe is also a smart, decent, individual, and deserves our thanks. AnnS should try sitting down in front of a mirror and practice being nice.

Is anne a sore LOSER? The election wasn't close. Joe did things people of moderate intelligence wouldn't do. HE GOT WHAT HE DESERVED!
