Wis. Senate Dem leader steps down
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Mark Miller has decided to step down from his post as Senate Democratic leader.
Miller’s office issued a statement Wednesday saying he plans to quit his post when the current legislative session ends in December.
The Monona Democrat ran unopposed in Tuesday’s elections. The statement doesn’t say why he chose to quit his leadership position and his spokeswoman didn’t immediately return telephone messages.
Miller served as Senate Democrats’ leader when they fled the state in 2011 to protest Republican Gov. Scott Walker’s contentious law that strip most public workers of nearly all their union rights. He helped Democrats seize the Senate majority last June in recall elections stemming from the union law fight.
Republicans took the chamber back in Tuesday’s elections, though.

Obamacare: The Road to Repeal Starts in the States
Now 30 GOP Govs -
The Supreme Court further empowered states when it overturned the law's Medicaid mandate. That mandate required states to expand their Medicaid rolls dramatically on pain of losing all federal Medicaid funds, which comprise 12 percent of state revenues. Twenty-six states challenged that mandate as unconstitutionally coercive.
They won. The court held the federal government cannot withhold existing Medicaid grants from states that fail to expand their programs. States may now refuse to expand their programs without fear.

Why didn't this guy step down before the election, and give the people a choice to fill his seat on Nov.6? Now another election.
If a candidate has had enough and time to move on, fine.
If he is quiting because he is in the minority, then good-by & good riddance.

I think the first order of business would be to re-assign offices again, just like was done a few months ago. People's business always comes last...

Also, they insisted on having all the phone numbers changed and getting additional space.
The named the mining committee (that doesn't want a mine in Wisconsin), unless it takes 10 years for a permit.
They gained majority and took office in July, it was February 17 when they went on the lam to Illinois.
