Governor pressured on health-care exchange
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — An array of interests, including business groups and liberal health care advocates, is pressuring Gov. Scott Walker to create a state-run exchange under the federal health care law.
Walker faces a Friday deadline to tell President Barack Obama’s administration what he intends to do.
The governor met privately with advisers immediately after Obama won re-election and had no plans to publically announce what direction he’s headed until after Monday.
Walker has three choices: create a state-run virtual marketplace for the public to shop for private insurance; let the federal government set it up; or a combination approach.
Those with an interest in the process contacted by The Associated Press say they have not been involved with Walker’s administration about coming up with a plan.

In Wisconsin, Obamacare to Increase Individual Insurance Premiums by 30%
In Wisconsin, as elsewhere, Obamacare will drive up the cost of private health coverage, especially for those who buy insurance on their own. One of Obama’s key health-care advisers, Jonathan Gruber, found that by 2016, individual premiums in Wisconsin will increase by an average of 30 percent. In addition, Obamacare will deeply cut Medicare Advantage for more than 300,000 Wisconsin seniors enrolled in the program. And 27 percent of Wisconsin physicians say that they will place new or additional limits on accepting Medicare patients.- Forbes

wasp...yes, embassies were attacked during the Bush admin. That isn't the issue. The issue is the coverup and the blaming the attack on a video, and Obama avoiding even calling it a terrorist attack, plus the slippery non answers from the admin. Also yes, some businesses fail but to hand out millions of dollars to companies without vetting them is sinful. What kind of morons did due diligence on these companies? And these "shovel ready" projects? Even Obama admitted they weren't shovel ready. That's what happens when you elect someone who has no idea what running a business means. As far as social security and Medicare?...yeah you like getting your checks and doctor bills paid but how long do you think this can go on? Ryan made a stab at making some corrections but was soundly stomped on by the democrats. It was a start but oh no, Obama hasn't even proposed anything.

As Bobby Peterson, head of the Madison nonprofit ABC for Health said, "There's been so much energy placed into repeal and replace Obamacare, to do the 360 required is going to be tough politically. ... It's really hard for them (Walker Admin) to accept the reality but they're going to have to at some point."

Once again Walker's ineptitude comes shining through. He's had ample opportunity to create a contingency plan based on the likely reality Obama would be re-elected or that Obamacare would be NOT be overturned. Instead he mopes around the State touting his creation of 5 jobs. Walker continues to prove he is incapable of running a State.

What's so difficult? German states have had health care since Wisconsin first became a state. Yet, their economy, businesses and workforce seem to continue to prosper even after many wars. Why can't the U.S. look to them as a model of what to do with health care? After all, didn't we win those wars and help to rebuild the economies of Germany, England, France and Greece? Oh, Scotty, what to do next?

How about if we told King Scotty that when his wife had surgery(appendix removed) that he had no insurance - nothing would be covered. Nothing will be paid for - let all the bills get bigger and collection agencies start calling asking the King to start paying something. Walker has lived an easy life and has never even had a real job that demands that he works hard. He has no idea what many individuals and families are going though. Hope to see the Federal Government come in to administer the program so the King can look like the clown he is.

People who have taken the time to really understand the health care situation realize that health-care exchanges are the best option currently being considered. The best approach is a single-payer system (like just ramping up Medicare or the military's Tri-Care to cover everyone), but that option "has been taken off the table" by insurance lobbies and politicians.
