FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) — Mercury Marine plans to hire about 170 new employees at its Fond duc Lac facilities this month.

The Fond du Lac-based manufacturer of recreational boat motors says most of the available positions are in manufacturing areas. Mercury Marine says it is ramping up production in 2013 to keep pace with what company leaders call „unprecedented“ demand for its most popular engines.

Workers starting out can earn as much as $14.90 per hour. Full- and part-time jobs are available.

WLUK-TV reports Mercury Marine has hired about 1,100 employees in the past three years since it began consolidating its operations in Stillwater, Okla., to Fond du Lac.

Mercury is a division of Brunswick Corp.

Shnibble,
Maybe the government should have called Mercury's bluff. Simple logic says that with the infrastucture they have in place in Fondulac, the costs would be too great for them to have closed the facility. It was not a good investment.

Well,
If the lefties are going to blame Walker for every time a job leaves this state during his time as Governor, then conservatives have every right to praise him when jobs come into the state.

So let me get this straight, schnibble. It is a smart investment by our government to pay $782,352.94 for each job that pays $30,992.00 per year? Sometimes it would be smartest for the government to call these corporations bluff.

Fear, Conservatards as you call them arent against spending, we are against indiscriminate spending. All spending should be analyzed to determine the value that citizens receive. But from your previous posts, it is common knowledge that you feel any problem can be solved with more money, no matter how wasteful that spending is.

Well said schnibble, and I hope the people understand the TRUTH now. Now that Obama is President again they know they are going to be treated right and are safe.... Thank goodness for more employment and FYI this is the time that they start making boat motors for the next season.

Thank you union employees for making concessions to enhance Mercury Marines' position in the market place way before Scooter Walker and his supporters even thought about taking credit.
