Walker to announce decision on health exchange
MADISON—Gov. Scott Walker plans to announce whether he will implement a state-run health insurance exchange or turn that responsibility over to President Barack Obama’s administration.
States faced a Friday deadline to notify the Obama administration of their plans.
Numerous groups, including the state’s chamber of commerce and the Wisconsin Hospital Association, have urged Walker to have the state run the virtual marketplace where people can shop for private health insurance coverage.
They argue the state ought to have control over how the exchange is set up.
But tea party Republicans and other conservatives are calling on Walker not to implement the exchange and instead leave it to Obama’s administration.
Walker plans to announce his decision Friday morning.

The Constitution is a contract to tell the Federal Government what they "can't" do. States have Governors to be closer to the residents and govern as individual states. Our Federal government is going to over reach no matter or how you look at it.

Of course he is not going to do it, he can't even be bothered with assigning someone to collect payments on small business loans handed out by the state(tax-funded loans, oh my).

"The law, Walker wrote, “gives states three options in building health insurance exchanges: an exchange built and managed by an individual state subject to federal mandate; a partnership plan requiring the state to perform functions on behalf of the federal government; or a federal exchange developed by the federal government.”
“While the three options differ in who initially builds and operates the exchange, all three options are identical in that they are governed and controlled by federal policy. No matter which option is chosen, Wisconsin taxpayers will not have meaningful control over the health care policies and services sold to Wisconsin residents. If the state option is chosen; however, Wisconsinites face risk from a federal mandate lacking long-term guaranteed funding.”

well wislady, I never see a solution offered from you or your cohorts other than the status quo is the perfect solution. Maybe you are fortunate enough not to have to worry about health care coverage such as having Medicare, military health care benefits or employer sponsored coverage, but many are not that fortunate. As you are obviously well set with insurance, what is your solution for those who are not? Or to my previous comment, others suffering without insurance and health care is fine with you?
Is this clear enough for you?

Summary:
The cost of Obamacare just in the administrative cost alone could just hand everyone in America insurance that don't have it now.
The cost to police us with regulators, IRS agents, decision panels and paper shufflers could be replaced with cash directly to the uninsured to freely go where the want when they want.
No, this is about power, anti-rights and control. It has nothing to do with care
Also those "47%" you so parade in front of us already get insurance by the government. We are talking about a complete change in our economy and our freedoms for about 10% of Americans that ...again... could be insured with the the money going in to police us with authoritarian powers.
What part of this can I explain further for you on the left?
You seem to have a mental block regarding this 2700 pg bill that was passed before it was read.

What's really stupid here is that of all the states, with the possible exception of Romneycare Massachusetts, Wisconsin is well prepared to set up an exchange because ... wait for it ... WE ALREADY HAVE ONE.
.
It's called Badgercare Core Plus and it's only available to single adults who qualify for Medicaid, but the way Wisconsin set it up, you choose from a variety of health plans available in your area (e.g. Mercy is in Janesville but not, say, Wausau). Basically, the consumer uses infrastructure set up by the state to contract with a private insurer, who is paid out of either a full or partial Medicaid subsidy. The infrastructure is already there, all Wisconsin would have to do is open it up to a different class of consumer and vendor.

Exactly. There is no point in setting up "state run" exchanges, since the states really would not be running the program. If states opt out, and the Feds have to fund all of Obamacare....guess who approprates the money for that.

HA - Obama saves Big Bird but kills the Twinkie.
Obamacare will do that eventually. The Government control started with salt and slurpies, it will go to sweets and chips and soda and anything that effects your health because you are too stupid to know better.
The Government can then force you join a gym and show on your taxes that you buy veggies every week too.
The Liberal Mantra "control the masses"!
Obamacare can not survive it's own weight if states say no!

OVERNIGHT HEALTH: HHS extends exchange deadline
In a concession to Republican governors, the Obama administration extended the Friday deadline for states to decide whether they’ll implement their own insurance exchanges. In a letter to governors on the eve of the deadline, HHS gave states an extra month to file letters of intent on their exchanges.
By The Hill's count, eight states were undecided before the letter was released Thursday evening — Arizona, Idaho, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wisconsin. The extra time could help coax some of those states into creating their own exchanges, rather than leaving the task up to the federal government.
Dec. 15 is the new deadline for states that want to run their own exchanges to make that intention known. States that don’t go that route will have until Feb. 14 to decide whether to work in partnership with the federal government or cede their exchange entirely to Washington.
