UPDATED: Police identify Ill. father, daughter killed in plane crash near Burlington
TOWN OF SPRING PRAIRIE—An Illinois father and daughter are dead after a single-engine plane crash Sunday in far eastern Walworth County, according to a news release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office.
Todd A. Parfitt, 50, and Nicole M. Parfitt, 14, died when the plane crashed during an attempted landing at 1:26 p.m. Sunday west of the Burlington Municipal Airport. The pilot of the plane had been trying to land at the time of the crash, according to the news release.
The plane landed in a field east of County DD and just inside the county line, according to the release.
The release does not state which of the two passengers was flying at the time.
The plane was a 1972 Grumman Model AA-1B, according to the news release.
The crash remains under investigation.
