MILWAUKEE (AP) — State wildlife officials are reminding deer hunters they can still get out into the woods after the traditional nine-day gun season wraps up later this month.

The state’s 10-day muzzleloader season opens Nov. 26, the day after the traditional firearm season ends. Department of Natural Resources officials say that season is far more relaxed. Fewer hunters venture out and deer begin to return to their normal movement patterns.

The four-day antlerless hunt begins statewide on Dec. 6, the day after the muzzleloader season ends. Hunters also can get in on an ongoing gun season in certain metropolitan areas with higher deer populations. That season ends Dec. 9.

It all depends on where you hunt. Its easy to say you need to actually get in the woods and hunt but some areas see a lot of deer and some areas not so many. If you had great luck, congrats but that doesn't mean others are not out trying to harvest their deer as well. You can spend all the money on scent killers, stands, trail cams etc.... but some of it just comes down to just plain old luck! You just have to be in the right spot at the right time!

WAS A GREAT SEASON OF HUNTING, SAW AND KILLED MORE DEER THAN ANY OF LAST 3 YEARS, MAYBE PEOPLE SHOULD GET INTO THE WOODS MORE AND ACTUALLY HUNT!

We had one of the best years ever between bow and gun hunting. Major rut action.

I have seen a butt load of deer this season. Lot more dead on the roads, more running across the county roads while doing my AM route, and some on vehicles. I think it is slowly rebounding.

They need to go back to the normal 9 day gun and muzzle loader seasons and forget all the other crap hunts. There is not that many deer out there anymore and is getting tuffer for hunters and discurages alot of hunters on not continuing to hunt anymore because of the low numbers. Let the herd build back up a little bit more and maybe do these extra hunts every 3 years or so.

There is also the holiday hunt from Dec 24th-Jan6th in the CWD units which covers a majority of the Southern part of the state. Not sure why that info was left out again in the story.
