Janesville man arrested on attempted homicide charge after shooting
JANESVILLE—A Janesville man is being charged with attempted homicide after another man was shot in the neck Friday on Janesville’s southwest side, according to a news release from the Janesville Police Department.
Police arrested Deadrick J. Vance, 34, of 2807 Afton Road, Janesville, on a charge of attempted first-degree homicide, according to the news release.
Janesville police and Rock County sheriff’s deputies responded to the shooting that was reported at 3:46 p.m., according to Rock County Communications records.
A 27-year-old man sustained a gunshot injury to his neck, according to the release. The man was transported to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, where as of late Friday night he was being treated for life-threatening injuries, according to the news release.
Janesville police Friday night would not reveal more information about the incident because it remained under investigation.
