Janesville woman dies in crash
TOWN OF DUNKIRK—A Janesville woman died Friday in a head-on collision with a recycling truck on Highway 51 near Stoughton, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The woman, 34, was not identified pending notification of relatives. She was driving a car that crossed the centerline and hit the truck, according to a news release. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman’s 4-year-old daughter was treated for minor injuries at Stoughton Hospital and later released to relatives, according to the news release.
The truck driver, also from Janesville, was not injured.
The highway was closed for several hours after the accident.
