Vance pleads not guilty to Feb. 1 shooting on Janesville's south side
JANESVILLE--A Janesville man accused of shooting a friend over a drug debt has pleaded not guilty to a charge of attempted homicide.
DeAdrick Vance, 34, of 2807 Afton Road, Janesville, is charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide, delivering marijuana, maintaining a drug-trafficking place and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is accused of shooting a friend, Michael Hooker of rural Beloit, in the face on Feb. 1 at Vance’s home.
Vance is in custody at the Rock County Jail on a $100,000 bond. A hearing is scheduled Wednesday to argue the bond, attorney Josh Klaff said.
Court Commissioner Stephen Meyer on Monday found probable cause to bind over Vance for trial.
