Winter weather returns to southern Wisconsin
SULLIVAN--Light snow will continue to fall across the area through the early morning. Additional snowfall will remain light and up to 1 inch through the morning, according to a National Weather Service special statement issued early Tuesday morning.
Blustery west winds pulled cold air into southern Wisconsin overnight. Temperatures have tumbled to between 10 and 20 degrees in most areas and will continue to fall to between 5 and 15 degrees this morning before leveling out. Wind chills will fall to between 5 and 15 degrees below zero this morning.
The cold temperatures and snowfall will result in slippery conditions on remaining untreated roads and walks. In addition, the wet snow and rain that fell Monday has become a slushy, partially frozen mess.
Be prepared for difficult travel conditions early this morning on untreated and unplowed roads.

I'm not much a fan of the ice, either, especially this slush-turned-frozen-mess stuff that we get after all the thaw/freeze cycles this year. I'd be fine with a very neat "winter starts ... snow ... snow ... snow ... winter ends ... melt ... melt ... melt" pattern, but I don't know how likely that is in the future with climate change.

I'd love to be out mowing instead of this stuff ! The snow is not so much of a pain...it is the ice that I hate.

I blame that darn rodent Jimmy for this weather...he said an early spring so now mother nature took that as a challenge to get in all the winter she can before then LOL

I prefer to mow a lawn before I would shovel a driveway full of snow.
