Janesville police seeking dog that bit child

JANESVILLE—Police are seeking an unknown dog after a Janesville child reported being bitten on the face Friday night.

An 8-year-old child was walking with an adult near Holmes and Lincoln streets when an unknown dog ran up and bit the child, according to a news release from the Janesville Police Department.

The dog is described as a medium-sized brown and black mixed-breed dog. It ran off in an unknown direction.

The child got 10 stitches at a local hospital, according to the news release.

Police ask that anyone who witnessed this incident or knows where to find the dog to call the Janesville Police Department at 608-755-3100 or the Rock County Communications center at 608-757-2244.
