TOWN OF JANESVILLE – Rock County deputies, a Janesville police dog unit and Janesville fire units are searching along County A west of the city for a man who might be in danger from the severe cold.

A man was seen walking in the 5000 block of West County A at 8:26 p.m. Monday. The reporting person said the man, wearing a tan jacket and dark trousers, was stumbling.

Anyone who has perhaps given the man a ride or knows anything of his whereabouts is asked to call 911.

The surprising thing is that it didn't the gazette 3 hours to publish the story.....even though I'm sure he was long gone a hour and 15 minutes later

This story is lacking in details.
The RP could have at least waited in the vicinity for the police to arrive without putting themselves in jeopardy, while somewhat keeping an eye on the individual in distress.

i don't blame this person for not stopping. I wouldn't have either. 8:30pm on a country road i'm not picking anybody up, i don't care how cold it is. This person did the responsible thing and contacted authorities to handle it.

Uh, it seems clear from the existence of the article that someone called the sheriff.

I hope someone picked him up or at least called the sheriff to check him out. It was way too cold out.

Lots of people would, but you never know WHO you're stopping for or what they may do to you.
