Aqua Jays to host second world tournament in 2014
JANESVILLE--The International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation have awarded the Rock Aqua Jays the bid to host the second World Waterski Show Tournament in 2014, Aqua Jays President Joel Shapiro said.
The deal is a matter of signing a letter of agreement and setting the dates to bring the tournament back to Janesville, Shapiro said.
The tournament likely would be in late August or early September 2014, he said.
The world tournament is slated to be held every two years.

Good question! Well, technically that's a function of US Customs, but I'm not sure that they actually inspect non-agricultural items. Invasive species laws generally depend on voluntary compliance.

Just out of curiosity, if people bring their equipment from other countries, what steps are taken to ensure that invasive species are not brought into our waters? I would think even wet suits could contain things like plankton or weed seeds that could spread.
