Walker to speak at state education convention
MILWAUKEE—Gov. Scott Walker is scheduled to speak before the Wisconsin state education convention.
Walker is slated to speak Friday morning at the meeting sponsored by the Wisconsin Association of School Boards, the Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators and the Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials.
His appearance comes less than a month before he is to release his two-year state budget. Walker has said that spending plan will include more money for education and an expansion of the voucher program, but he hasn’t provided many details.
Walker says he wants to provide incentive money to the highest and lowest performing school districts, based on how they do on state report cards.
More than 2,000 school district leaders from across the state are expected at the meeting.

Yeah 916, you calling me ignorant is actually a compliment. The person that puts GARBAGE on these blogs is ripping on me? Ha!! Look in the mirror and see what you and the party that you support have done to this country!! Your hatred and hate-filled comments are just the tip of the iceberg!!

shermy......Here is your quote, "Actually, 916, it IS EACH STATE'S JOB BY LAW to establish the exchanges!! The fact that Walker REFUSED this should have required a FINE!!"
-------
I hope you realize that by now you are completely ignorant regarding the law. The state is NOT required by law to set up an exchange, as such, would not required be required to pay a fine. You can kick and scream and call anyone who disagrees with you a moron, in an attempt to divert attention from your blatant ignorance and/or dishonestly. That will not change the facts here. Hopefully you are seeking help for your anger issues. It would be a shame if they affected that job that you claim to "love" so much while at the same time complaining about a jobs promise that seemingly should have no affect on you:)

Why aren't ordinary classroom teachers courting his opinions? Is it because they earn one- quarter to one-third of what administrators and business managers earn? Will his hoped-for expansion of voucher programs include raises for administrator - criminals like those convicted in the Milwaukee voucher experiment. What restrictions and guidelines will be in place to protect the general public from abuses and misuses of public funding? Does the Milwaukee voucher experiment demonstrate that a much-improved education is being had? If you think the answer is no, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Look up your own research, information is available.
Your assumption that I support EVERYTHING my "team" does is wrong. It is YOU who assumes too much.

Wislady, let me show you a clear difference between you and me. You assume that I support everything Obama does because I voted for him. You support everything your "team" does. I don't support him re-upping the Patriot act, I think it's one of the biggest injustices our goverment has ever put into place. And yes I do remember why the Patriot Act was put into place. Because we were all scared and over reacted to a terrorist attack. So terrorist flew planes into our buildings and we sign a piece of legislation that takes away our citizens privacy, personal protection, and rights. Sounds to me like the terrorist won that round.

You must really be upset since Obama renewed, and expanded, the Patriot Act(2011). He "signed" it with the auto pen while he was in France, so maybe (in your mind), he didn't really sign it.
Do you even remember why we had the Patriot Act? Everyone was on board with it, except one person (and that lone vote was a vote against Bush). At least, it gave Feingold something to write a book about, since he believes himself to be a "hero".

Wislady I am waiting to hear what is working. As for rights, lets call out ole George W. while were at it and the Patriot Act. Talk about taking away people's rights. What's the point of having the second amendment after everything worth standing up for is taken away?

If we took the excess or extra and put some back that was taken away spent it all on education and trained Wisconsin people in the skills they will need in the new jobs that would pay a living wage and then taxed those now well educated people. We would have a surplus every year! Sounds to simple right? Give a man a fish feed him for a day teach him to fish and he can feed himself for life. Hand up not a hand out!

Maybe Walker needs to get an education!!! as to the rights of the Constitution and talk on that subject as to his recent Assaults on the 1rst Amendment..The First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution is part of the Bill of Rights. The amendment prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion, impeding the free exercise of religion, abridging the freedom of speech, infringing on the freedom of the press, interfering with the right to peaceably assemble or prohibiting the petitioning for a governmental redress of grievances.

Keep throwing out the insults, 916. You are on MOST of these blogs ALL THE TIME. I am on FEW of these blogs once in a while. Who has no life (and probably no job)? Who is the angry one? Not me. Good try, though. Keep digging the hole. Almost to 6 feet.

Yeah, Walker is the result of things in this state? Lots of out-of-state money, lots of voter suppression ideas or proposals. Gee, I wonder if you are for these concepts, 916? Shocker, I am sure you are. Allegedly against big government, but for out-of-state dollars in the millions, and voter suppression to keep winning elections. Not working at the federal level, is it!!

Wow sherm! You're an angry little person, aren't you? So you have a job that you love, your friends have jobs that they appear to love, but you consistently come on here and complain about jobs......huh? Now, according to you, it is law that Walker is required to set up an exchange? Are you simply completely ignorant regarding the exchanges or are you lying to try to prove one of your invalid points? Looking forward to your response.....thanks!

There is no requirement that the states set up exchanges. It's their choice to do so or leave it up to the feds. Why would the state do this & then be the fall guys when this disaster fails? Also why should the state take on the expense, which btw nobody knows. This is Obama's baby - let him own it.

shermy......due to the amount of crying you do, obviously you need a job. Rather than whine about the governor not gift wrapping one and dropping it off on your doorstep, get off your couch and go get one! You need to dump the negativity first, or most potential employers will continue to show you the door. I don't have any friends/family that are unemployed in this state--granted the people I associate with are a lot more ambitious than some of the crybabies who post on this site:)
BTW....It's not our job to set up a FEDERAL exchange in order to maintain a FEDERAL entitlement program. It makes complete sense to anyone with common sense, considering all of the inconsistencies with this program that the federal government absorb the costs of creating and maintaining it....

Gee, let me guess what he will say.........."The tough decisions that we made are working." That's the first of MANY lies!! Then he will probably say, "Well, my kids both to public school, and their has not been a decrease in the quality of education they are getting." That is most likely true because teachers will ALWAYS give the best quality the can. Finally, he will probably say, "Now we have a budget surplus, and it AMAZINGLY is a larger one now than what we initially thought in November." Yeah, a budget surplus is a REAL conquest at the expense of ALL levels of public education in Wisconsin!! Where are those 250,000 jobs, Governor Walker? Oh, that's right, the recalls. No? Oh, those are almost a year over? Well, then it HAS to be Obamacare!! No, we haven't even set up the exchange per FEDERAL LAW yet? Gee, again, those FACTS that get in the way of NO PROGRESS in the 42nd best (that's 8th WORST) state for job creation and DEAD LAST in the Midwest. Boy, I hope he runs for president with Paul Ryan as his running mate. So, Wisconsin can truly be the LAUGHING stock of the ENTIRE country!!
