janesvillean, I don't comment much, but I generally read all the comments. Sigma40 is the only person on here who keeps me sane with his insightful and rational comments.

Sigma40, I have to ask again -- if all you want to do is spit on the news -- literally every single story -- and act like you don't want to hear it, why are you even here? Isn't there someplace on the big wide internet you could go where you actually enjoy yourself?
.
I have lived here since the 1960s and the rural districts have always closed early or opened late due to much more severe road conditions than are found in town.

OMG the safety of children is important to some people and ignorance is what some spit in here.

They wont be clean and,the temps are or will be plummeting and then ice forms. Doesn't bother me but it will cause major problems for some.

Oh no!! Snow!! What has society come to? By the time school is over all the roads will probably be clean. ... and its just a couple inches anyway. Every time it snows people act like its a disaster now. Why?

They knew it was coming,so why do they have cause the inconvenience in the middle of the day. It's a heck of a lot easier to make adjustments early in the morning isn't it ?
