Fourteen-month-old dies after dog attack in Walworth
FONTANA - A 14-month-old boy died Wednesday after he and a 30-year-old woman were attacked by a pair of dogs in the town of Walworth, according to the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office.
Susan Iwicki called 911 for help just after 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, saying she and the toddler were being attacked by two pit bulls at N2037 North Lakeshore Drive in Walworth, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
The 14-month-old was first taken to Mercy Walworth Medical Center in Lake Geneva.
An official with Flight For Life said the boy was later flown to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, where the sheriff’s office said he died from his injuries at 3:32 p.m.
Authorities did not say in the release what Iwicki’s relationship was with the toddler, or if she was taken to a hospital.
The dogs were taken off the property and euthanized by a local veterinarian, the release said.
