Sen. Ron Johnson will seek re-election

MILWAUKEE—U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson says he plans to seek re-election in 2016.

Some Republicans have speculated the senator who calls himself a ‘citizen legislator’ might only serve one term.

But, Johnson said on WTMJ radio that he feels his vote will be needed on bipartisan solutions to the nation’s fiscal problems. The Republican senator says there aren’t enough people in Washington willing to “take those tough votes.”

The Hill capital newspaper reports Johnson told a group of Republican strategists in Washington, D.C., that he’s started fundraising for a second run.

Why don't Johnson and Ryan spend a year studying countries that are set up on free market, small government principles, like Chadd, the Sudan and Haiti, for example, before they try to bring their philosophy to the United States? See how well it works in those countries, than we'll try it out nationally in 2016.

Throw the bum out. He is just as worthless as Ryan.

I wonder how many times Johnson will have to be proven that what he claims to be facts are in fact "NON facts"?

" His actions have hurt many Wisconsin citizens."

I love hearing people say that politicians hurt citizens as though citizens do not have control of their futures. A true testament of a liberal plagued with a welfare mentality.

Comparing Obama with Johnson? That qualifies for a trip to Hanity's show. Get real!

I'm supporting anyone for Senate who will vote against the Obama party line - assuming Homeland Security (now armed with 1.6 billion rounds of pistol ammo, FULLY automatic "personal defense weapons", mine-proof armored cars, and Predator drones) is going to allow a Federal election in 2016.

Hillary tore him a new one? Because he asked for answers and her reply was they are dead so what does it matter if it was demonstation due to a video (was not) or was a group of guys out for a walk that decided to kill some Americans (it was not). It was a planned terrorist attack on the 10th anniversary of 9/11/01 for which we were ill prepared. Yet you give her a pass for saying maybe it was some guys out for a walk ???? I do not support Johnson and did support Hillary but can never again after that flippant response. Could not even admit after all those weeks that it was a planned terrorist attack. Guys out for a walk ????

"From the day I ran for this office last year -- er, four years ago, it seems like just last year -- I've always said change takes more than one term, one president, one party," Obama said at a fundraiser in Milwaukee.

Hmm the hypocrisy of the left shows through again.

"He is worthless and stupid and has done nothing.
He is as dumb as it gets. He sure is not what we want in Wisconsin to represent us. He is forever getting made fun of for being so stupid."

please tell me that you didn't vote for Obama then. If you did you are currently the biggest hypocrite on this site!

Feingold only lost because of political momentum. I could agree that the ACA caused Feingold to lose the election, but it wouldn't have mattered even if Feingold did vote against it. The Democratic base was asleep in 2010, and the Republican/TEA Party base was fired up. In fact, 2010 was almost definitely the peak of the TEA Party.

There is no way he won against Feingold honestly. Something fishy there. He is worthless and stupid and has done nothing.

Working for all? That's rich....

Name me ONE piece of legislation that HE has sponsored that DIRECTLY benefits the average citizen. Something he has done legislatively that enhances the lives of individual constituents as opposed to his corporate puppet-masters.

Sen. Johnson must be doing something right if there based on the comments here. That means he working for all instead of the select few like most of the other side does.

I hope the Democrats have a strong opponent for Johnson, so he gets OUT of office. His actions have hurt many Wisconsin citizens...and he failed to work on resolving the budget crisis

So much for a "citizen legislator". Welcome to professional politics! Not even half way through the first term and declaring candidacy for a second term. Nice.

If Wisconsinites have any sense, they won't elect him again. Hopefully our vote will send the Koch Brothers and the WMC packing.

Interesting that these guys are all about term limits, self imposed or otherwise, until they actually get in office. Then they're so indispensable to the survival of our democracy and our way of life that they just have to stay . . . and stay . . . and stay . . . .

[Interesting too, of course, when newspapers endorse the idea of terms limits but then keep endorsing their favorites for reelection year after year after year.]

He has done SO much to make us proud. Let's start with his vote AGAINST the Violence Against Women Act. We can also thank him for his vote AGAINST our veterans. Don't forget how, after his election, the company he runs gave him a $10 Million 'bonus'--which just happened to correspond to what he spent on his campaign (it would have been illegal for his company to make a $10 Million donation to his campaign--I guess us "dumbed-down" citizens (HIS words) aren't smart enough to make THAT connection). Yes, let's re-elect this guy.

It will give me great pleasure to vote for anyone who runs against this worst Wisconsin Senator since (and maybe including) Senator McCarthy. He is a true embarrassment to the great State of Wisconsin.
