Wis. appeals court refuses to reinstate union law
MADISON — A Wisconsin appeals court has refused to put on hold a judge's decision repealing major parts of Gov. Scott Walker's law effectively ending collective bargaining for most public workers.
Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen asked the 4th District Court of Appeals to place the September ruling of Dane County Circuit Judge Juan Colas on hold while an appeal is pending. Colas refused in October and the appeals court on Tuesday upheld that decision.
The appeals court says it sees "no basis to set aside the circuit court's decision that a stay was not warranted."
A spokeswoman for Van Hollen did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Last year's ruling overturned the law as it pertained to school and local government workers.

Like I said wislady, you conservatives don't understand the form of justice that's based on constitutional law - you think justice can only be bought and paid for by conservative groups like Citizens for a Strong America and the Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce.

I believe part of this ruling is based on the U.S. constitution. If that is the case, the bought and paid for state supreme court won't have the final ruling and I doubt the U.S. Supreme court will hear it. So it may be settled in a federal appeals court. Not good news for the guv. There are also other lawsuits pending in the courts. School boards better start bargaining as act 10 is not law now.

HandBook - So if you are so against public sector unions because of your stated reasons, I assume you are against the big oil subsidies also. Chevron took their taxpayer subsidies and rolled a small portion of the money ($2.5M) into a GOP Super Pac that supports....you guessed it, big oil subsidies and laws that protect big oil profits among other things along with destroying Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.

Paul Ryan even stated today that “We're not going to give up on destroying the health care system”.
I also assume you are against business leaders’ unions and organizations, such as WMC and others that fight labor tooth and nail to keep them under-paid with fewer benefits and fewer safety rules.

One step closer to the state supreme court where it will surely be overturned by the conservative majority. I mean based on constitutional law.

BTW this goes to the Partisan Supreme court that is owned by Scott Walker. there isnt one justice worth their weight in artisan crap, all of them. They are a joke, the courts are a joke, the legislature is a joke and thanks to Walker Wisconsin is at or near the bottom of every economic category, and Wisconsin has become a joke.

Harry gets to decide what are rights and what are privelidges? Huh I never knew. I would say that is more your crooked slanted idea. I love people that think that getting decent health care isn't a right. Its your right to shoot and kill to protect yourself, but if you get cancer through no fault of your own, you do NOT have the right to be cared for, ou have the right to DIE. I can only hope that with human beings like these that they have a close family member suffer from a life threatening disease and are forced into bankruptcy when the insurace companny, strengthened by Americans like your IGNORANCE. EVERY single person NEEDS health care in their lives therefore a HUMAN right!!! Anyone who believes otherwise is a nincompoop and draggiung down society. You have been dumbed down by your conservative overlords.

So many forget what the Unions gave them and in time their dear sweet GOP will teach them what it was like before Unions gave them 40 hour work weeks, overtime, equality, safe work places, job security, family leaves, protection from harassment and so much more. But then again you cannot teach the ignorant... Born into a Union family and will die being a proud Union worker and member.

HandBookHarry - Don't forget the people who think healthcare is a right, too. Right to shelter? No. Right to food? No. Right to healthcare that has only existed for .000001% of humanity? Of course!

This was not unexpected. Make no mistake folks collective bargaining for public employees is gone for good. Eventually this will wind its way through the court and just like the John Doe case it will end with a whimper and a page 4 blurb that the law will stand. Mikey Tate and Grammy Zielinski will flip out like they normally do, put out a series of ridiculous tweets, the public will yawn, the capitol singers will sing, and life will move on.

Actually Harry, they are NOT appealing to the public for sympathy, in fact they are appealing to the courts for justice. Oh, and it's not the kind of justice bought and paid for by campaign donations from Citizens for a Strong America and the Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce. This is justice based on actual constitutional law. I know Republicans like you get those confused.

These are privileges not rights. A right to bear arms is a right. Freedom of speech and religion are rights. LIberals like to equate these privileges to rights as they appeal to the public for sympathy.
