Poll: Wis. residents approve of Obama, Walker
MILWAUKEE (AP) — A new poll says Wisconsin voters generally approve of President Barack Obama and Gov. Scott Walker.
The Marquette University poll released Tuesday says 48 percent of respondents approve of the job Obama is doing, while 45 percent disapprove. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
Those numbers are down since October. Obama’s approval rating then was 51 percent.
Walker’s numbers are essentially unchanged since October. Tuesday’s poll found an approval rating of 50 percent with 44 percent disapproving. Six months ago, 49 percent approved and 45 percent disapproved.
The latest approval rating for U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan is 45 percent, the same as in October. But 15 percent said they haven’t heard enough to form an opinion, even though he was the Republican vice presidential candidate.

The only thing the poll shows, is that as a state and as a nation, we are almost evenly divided (politically).

I don't believe the poll, but then again, I don't believe there's any more difference between the two parties than there is between Coke and Pepsi, and quite possibly less. And I say that with experience of both. I suggest turning off the 'boob tube' and try reading materials such as 'none dare call it conspiracy' and Satan, prince of this world. Both are available as free pdfs online. It is also a good idea to consider the source of any poll
I stopped 'drinking the koolaid' in 09.. and now that I've educated myself, I don't drink "coke and pepsi' either. worse for you than fluoridated water

rukiddingme My wife is a vet of Iraq. The GI bill put her through school and we are thankful for that. I agree with you when you say it is disturbing to see both sides debating over money and benefits for vets. These people, even those who serve in peace time, should be taken care of to the fullest extent. People have to remember these people volunteer there service. And I have heard people first hand saying it is BS that we have to give all these troops education and benefits. Well dammit they earned it and these people saying this, well, I don't see them rushing to the recruiter.

Hint, what has concerned me the most from the Bush Presidency, is the MASSIVE profits Halliburtin realized from the Bush Wars, all on the tax payer dime. I see they are now behind the 8-ball and may have to re-pay 28 million for overcharging our fighting youth. These wars get outsourced in a way that these "private" entities get paid well over what our American Soldiers get paid. All on the tax payer dime. Both political parties say thanks to our Soldiers but debate money when it comes to their needs in a war zone. Just seems backwards to me. The Bush years and the Lies to War may go down in the future as the most treasonous act in U.S. history. Or perhaps the "right" will re-write history books to show that weapons of mass destruction were found in Iraq. Ask a 12-15 yr. old who was responsible for 9-11. Don't be surprised with their answer of Iraq/Saddaam and that Bush/Cheney saved the world from monkey's flying out our rears.

rukiddingme. Nice job!! Don't you love it when people throw these comments in and dig themselves a rut. I realize it happens on both sides, but you're 100% right. Get educated before you say something stupid. By the way can you imagine what this country would have been like with another 4 years of Bush? I've asked this before. Can any conservative tell me, if Bush is not to blame for the collapse, why has every candidate from McCain on distanced themselves from him and assured the people that they are not like him at all?

Woodsman, I'm glad you are now awake and out of your slumber, OR out of the woods and back with society . Now go educate yourself on the U.S. President from 2000-2008. Remember to notice U.S. deficit explosion, false pretense to war, and worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil after months of warnings from intelligent agencies. Enjoy the education. If your comment was to inflame, then congratulations to your troll status.

woodsman. You forgot to give credit to Mr. Brains himself George W. Bush for starting this awseome downward spiral our country has been in. If he hadn't been elected his second term, and I say this as an independent, I believe we would be in a completely different state in our economy. Just another case of trying to blame it all on one guy. Don't forget about the mess he inherited. And no I don't think a conservative can get us out of this mess. In fact I believe if McCain and Palin had beat Obama we would be far worse off than we are now.

Polls are almost useless. Polling is not a science - polls simply try to justify or bridge the gap between 'guessing' and 'fantasy'.
