Hey, Brewer fans, camp out at Miller Park!

By GREG PECK ( Contact )   Friday, August 14, 2009 - 3:34 p.m.

So the Brewers are offering fans--those who didn't jump off the bandwagon long ago--a chance to enjoy the first-ever "slumber party" inside Miller Park next month.

According to a short Associated Press story, tickets went on sale today for the sleepover, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12.

Fans are invited to bring their camping gear and spend the night under the stars. They can play catch on the field while watching the Brewers play the Arizona Diamondbacks on the centerfield video board.

They can also get a private tour of the ballpark, along with other perks. Tickets for fans 13 and older are $85 each.

That was the whole story. I realize I could get more information by going to the Brewers Web site here, but since I already have other plans for that weekend, I'll just pitch what comes to mind, my top 10 questions:

  1. What, $85 per fan? Hasn't anyone there heard of the recession?

  2. Can you BYO brewskis, or do I have to buy that expensive stadium beer?

  3. Can I start a campfire and cook brats?

  4. If I can start a campfire, will you supply the wood, or are we supposed to bring our own from across the state, emerald ash borers and all?

  5. OK, I realize campfires probably are out. But if I can cook on a portable grill, can I bring my favorite brats, or must they be Bob Uecker's favorite, Usinger's?

  6. If we're sleeping out under the stars, will they quickly close the stadium roof in time to keep my sleeping bag dry in the event of a cloudburst?

  7. If the action from Arizona on the big screen makes some fan lose their Usinger's, who's gonna clean that up?

  8. Assuming we can pitch tents, who's gonna fix all those little tent stake holes so the ball doesn't bounce funny for the next home game?

  9. Is there a curfew? Can I slug the idiot playing loud music at 2 a.m. in the tent next to mine?

  10. It's like camping, right? So if I get the urge in the middle of the night, can I, um, just step outside my tent to pee?

(Hey, fans, got any other good questions? Share them here.)

C'mon man, this is the gazette, you can't expect one of their reporters to take the time to actually do a Google search and find out the facts, better to post a random blog and sound interesting. Mr. Peck, go back to second guessing cops, at least you're better at that than you are at trying to act relevant with blogs like this.
