Do you have a favorite autumn tree?
Our next-door neighbor has a huge, sprawling maple tree that provides our neighorhood a pretty yellow glow this time of year. It's delightful, but it doesn't awe me as much as one I drive by each morning as I head down Milwaukee Street toward the Gazette's downtown offices. It's at the corner of Milwaukee and Wisconsin streets. Check it out below.
I love the duotone of this maple's yellow and orange leaves. I can be driving to work, filled with thoughts of the day's plateful of tasks, and if it's a sunny day, this tree makes me momentarily forget all those duties.
Not only that, this tree can be YOURS! That's right. Notice the Pat's Realty sign below it. The Professional Arts Building on the property holds two offices, both currently vacant. The list price is $192,000.
Do you have a favorite autumn tree? If so, tell us where it is.

Yes, that Maple is truly a wonder. It is also my favorite fall tree. My yard is full of Oak trees and this year is the first I've seen the leaves almost red in my neighborhood. Perhaps our cool summer hand something to do with that?

I like the maples like the one in the picture and the ones that turn bright red. I also like the little trees along Racine street near palmer park that are a mix of orange, red and a dark purpley color. They look like they could be a walnut tree but I'm guessing.

There is one on Madison ave in Milton. Right in front of a house that is next to the Middle school. The colors are amazing.

Great choice Greg! That has been my wife's favorite fall tree on her way to work for over 20 years. Maples are far and away the best colors of autumn.
