Is autumn arriving early or not?
I was working in the yard Saturday when a neighbor walked by and suggested autumn seems to be arriving early. I looked up at our two large ash trees, which shed their leaves by Oct. 1 each year (or does it just seem that way?), saw the sea of mostly green and suggested she was wrong. Besides, few yellowed ash leaves were lying on the ground.
Now, just four days later, more such leaves dot our yard. I see clusters of yellow in the branches above.
Is it time for a ride through the countryside? To consider some of the best spots for such a drive, go to Travel Wisconsin.
What do you think? Is autumn's kaleidoscope of color coming early or isn't it?

My basswoods are turning color all ready, and they are the last to turn and drop. I think it is early this year.

My mom says the trees are turning early, but she says that every year. I think it's about normal. Either way, I'm loving the turning of the trees. It's such a wonderful time of year!
