What you'll find in our expanded high schools
If it has been a few years since you stepped into Craig or Parker high school in Janesville, you might not know your way around anymore. The $70 million referendum that passed in 2006 has added more than 113,000 square feet of space to Craig and nearly 150,000 square feet at Parker. Yes, the new four-court gymnasiums and weight rooms at each school account for much of that space, but the improvements go far beyond physical education.
The Gazette Editorial Board asked for tours this week so we could weigh in on the improvements and encourage the public to tour the buildings, as well, on Oct. 11. We'll share our impressions in our editorial Sunday.

I graduated from Craig 25 years ago. My son is now a freshman at Craig. The changes are amazing. It was definitely money well spent. This is the 21st century and the schools need to adapt to the constant technological changes. These schools are now ready for that.

I toured Parker last Christmas. Absolutely awesome! It's great to see a community put their kids above all else!
