What’s value of shovel-ready state seal?

State officials came to Rock County this week to trumpet shovel-ready “Certified in Wisconsin” development sites. Wait a minute, you might say; weren’t these sites already so designated? What difference does this make, and why are taxpayers shelling out more money? We’ll explain in our editorial Friday.

Your thoughts on new UW football coach?

Gary Andersen, head coach at Utah State, reportedly flew to Madison on Wednesday ahead of today’s snowstorm. He apparently will be named as new Badger coach at a news conference Friday.
