Here's a handy Rock County parks calendar
I was just talking to Rock County Parks Director Lori Williams for a story I'm working on for Wednesday.
Williams reminded me that the county has a new parks calendar online.
I thought it looked like a handy reference for those of us trying to wring fun from the last, dwindling days of summer.
You know, as a Rock County native, I've never been to Magnolia Bluff Park?
Really.
Every once in a while, I think I should head over there. But then I end up at one of the other parks I'm already familiar with.
Even recreation can become a slave to habit, I guess.

tater, I disagree. There is a bluff if you drive up the road to a small parking lot and then walk out to the end of a long, mowed, tree-covered stretch to the overlook--which offers a magnificently stunning view of the countryside. Take a picnic basket. I don't recall any manure smells, but maybe it was a bad day when you were there (or perhaps since I worked on my uncle's farm, the smell didn't trouble me as much).
This is one park no one in Rock County should overlook (pun intended).

I had never been to Magnolia Bluff Park either, but went there with 2 of my kids this summer. If you enjoy the constant stench of manure from the nearby farms, then by all means go. Otherwise, pass or go in the winter. By the way, we saw neither magnolias nor a bluff.

raystone; click on the word, "online" and then poke around in the area it takes you to and enjoy.

Thanks, but I'm not seeing the calendar link in the blog. :)
