PLEASE!!! Can I have a goat???
I couldn't resist sharing this USA Todaystory about using sheep and goats for weed maintenance.
Man, what I'd give to have a goat in the backyard!
I'll admit, I giggled a little at the thought of a government body renting a herd of goats or sheep. In one case, they used sheep because a mower would damage the habitat of the 4-inch bog turtle.
Back to work now ... Discuss.

Though I enjoy cutting the grass, I really want a milking goat. I'd use the milk for cooking and to make cheese.
Our neighbor has a goat in their backyard. Wholly owned, not rented or government subsidized. At first the constant bleeting was noisy. Now it has lessened and is rather humorous. I am very envious.

My daughter wants us to get a goat for mowing the lawn and for her to be able to show next year for 4H (gotta make a project do double duty). I am just afraid that it would eat other things than just the lawn ie: my flowers, bushes, my laundry out on the line... LOL.
It would be nice if you could just rent one for the day though. Might have to ask the neighbors to borrow their goat for the weekend, just long enogh to get all of the clover out my ditch area.

This is an ongoing argument between Farmer Wheelock and myself. I think goats would help out in the barnyard and when the mower breaks down. He hates goats. :)
