More thoughts on the Brewers bullpen
Wow. Just when we think the Milwaukee Brewers bullpen is as bad as it can get, the Philadelphia Phillies beat us 3 games in a row in their last at bat. All 3 games ending with a score of 6-7.
There is not much to say here other than it is obviously time consider trading anyone who does not wear the number 8.
As far as the current bullpen goes, well I'm guessing the Gazette would delete my true thoughts, so I thought I'd let someone else say it for me. As a bonus it continues with my foreign language week:)

I'm still a die hard for the season until it's mathematically done.
It was my last sentence. And I expressed disappointment that they are willing to trade away good players which shows to me THEY HAVE given up on the season. Not Me. I'm there until the end whether they are in it or not. I have been since 1978.

Ron Roenicke did a pretty good job this year keeping the offensive and defense together in the wake of mounting injuries. Time to look at the pitching coaches, especially the bull pen.
I hate to see them trade away. It means they've given up the season. I know, 14 games out is monumental. I'm still a die hard for the season until it's mathematically done.

Saw that today. I keep hearing the White Sox want him but they don't have enough prospects. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few days.

Though not related to the bullpen situation Doug Melvin has confirmed that Zach Greinke will be traded before the deadline which I think is next week Tuesday.
Mr Melvin please, please, please work out a deal with the DODGERS.

The Brewers have been lucky in the past few years with having a somewhat decent pitching staff, both starting and relief. Look at almost all small market teams and they go through this type of cycle. The small market teams have to improve via the draft and hope that they can keep the main parts together long enough to make a run. The problem is that they groom the players in their farm system, or they get a few players from free agency that pan out, but after a year or two of success, it comes time to pay up and they don't have the capacity to compete with the big market teams.
It isn't RR's fault that his bullpen is pathetic. That's the hand he was dealt. And as for their GM, he only has so much that he can spend. He went all-in last year knowing that there was no way they could pay those pitchers, plus Fielder, Braun, Weeks, and Hart this year. Last year was their chance at the glory for probably the next six or seven years. Until the small market teams decide to bust the big markets choke hold on the way revenues are dispersed this is the cycle they will all be stuck in. Their window of opportunity to win is so small because the big market teams cherry pick all the talent, that for them to not just win, but be competitive is next to impossible.

I wish they had given Dale Sveum the job full time after 08. I'm not sure it's Ron's fault directly, but it IS the coaches job to get the players to perform.
RAF: I'm hardly a fan of the NFL and really not the Packers. I'm looking forward to the off-season so I can get a few more 'twitterviews' done w the players!!
Thanks for reading and commenting!! Go Brewers!!

I'm beginning to wonder if Roeneke isn't the problem.

The worst part about the failure of the bullpen is what it does to the attitude of the players and us fans.. When you go into an 8th inning up 6-1 and lose 6-7, it's hard to keep your head up.
But as a die hard, I still love my Brewers. But Melvin better fix this problem fast!

Kid the only thing good about the bullpen is Packers training camp has started, perhaps something positive to look forward to.
