Being Bold
Being bold with my conversations.
For better or worse I have never been one to hold back my thoughts. On my current journey, I am exploring taking that to the next higher level.
What this means for me is still coming from a place of respect for another individual. Asking that question that will really pull them up to the next level of thinking.
It is often the yes or no question. The question that will move you forward toward your goals.
Many times I find right after I leave a meeting I am flooded with great ideas of what I should have said. Did I freeze? I may have. When I freeze I need to give myself the clue that it is happening, and stop the freeze.
The freeze is the biggest reason that I don't ask the right question.
What do you do when you feel the freeze happen to you. How do you see it right there in that moment, and then side step it?

I wonder if we have created a society of people who cannot take questioning or criticism.
Perhaps we have protected a generation too much and made them feel they should always "feel good". We've talked high self esteem, but not given the skills to accept anything but praise.
Knowing the reaction will be negative is what causes me to "freeze".

Always remember that if you are in a meeting, sitting quietly and you FEEL STUPID, remain silent and still at all cost. It is better to sit than to rise, speak and remove all doubt. Stupiity can sometimes be more than just a feeling. But that doesn't dissuade many of us.

People are becoming more sensitive and fragile...in other words weak. People also are quick to think emotionaly and not logically. If you're in a meeting and freeze... you are too emotionally concerned with what is going on to think logically.
