GOVERNOR - GO FOR IT, TIM! What about a bi-partisan TICKET with Dale Schultz?

GOVERNOR - GO FOR IT, TIM! What about a bi-partisan TICKET with Dale Schultz?

I was pleasantly surprised when I read Ann Marie Ames’ front page feature last Saturday, “Tim Cullen for governor? Senator says he would run in recall election.” (Sorry, I am not allowed to provide you with a link.)

After reading the article, I said to myself and posted on my Facebook page, “GO FOR IT, TIM!” What do YOU think?

I do believe that TIM (D-Janesville) would bring to the whole situation a MODERATE and PRACTICAL leadership which I am convinced WE THE PEOPLE of WI NEED NOW! When the WALKER RECALL ELECTION takes place next year, I am prepared to vote for TIM CULLEN for GOVERNOR. Are YOU?

My other immediate thought was, WHY not enlist State Senator Dale Schultz (R-Richland Center)?

I’ve followed with special interest the special demonstration of healthy relation between Sen. Dale Schultz (R-Richland Center) and Sen. Tim Cullen (D-Janesville) working together demonstrating a healthy BI-PARTISAN working relationship!

I suggest you may want to re-read or read the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s editorial published October 25, 2011, “Cullen, Schultz talk the right bipartisan talk: But talking is easy outside the dome of the state Capitol. The real test will be what happens inside those marble halls.”

After re-reading the editorial, I again thought, so, let’s elect them Governor and Lieutenant Governor so they really are able to DEMONSTRATE how they move the talk-talk outside the dome of the state Capitol under the dome and into the Governor’s office. Why NOT?

And, I re-read the Wisconsin State Journal’s editorial published November 2, 2011, “Root for Schultz and Cullen.” NOW, let’s ROOT for CULLEN & SCHULTZ on the RECALL ELECTION BALLOT in 2012! Do YOU agree?

I admit, I am checking to find out whether it would be legal to have a DEM and a REP on the ballot for the recall election. I KNOW that until the WI State Constitution was amended in 1967 to make the ballot for Governor include the Lieutenant Governor; there was a separate ballot each for Governor and for Lieutenant Governor. That resulted in 9 times when the Governor and the Lieutenant Governor were from different political parties. I am not sure I agree with the amendment. Perhaps it was healthy that WE THE PEOPLE of WI were able to elect a person from one party as our GOVERNOR and a person from a different party as our LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR. If you are interested to learn more about the GOVERNOR, use this link to the Wikipedia article, “Governor of Wisconsin.” You may have special interest in the section, “Relationship with the Lieutenant Governor.” I did. Now, I need to study the history to evaluate those situations. What do YOU think?

Whatever, I do HOPE that we are able to work to so that we get to vote for State Senator Tim Cullen to be GOVERNOR and State Senator Dale Schultz to be LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR on the RECALL BALLOT in 2012. What do YOU hope for?

NOTE: The links are to the website of each Tim Cullen and Dale Schultz so you can easily get more information about each person.

To make up for my inability to post a link for you to read the Gazette’s article last Saturday, I am HAPPY that I am able to provide you a link to WISC-TV’s very interesting and informative report of last Saturday, December 3, “State Sen. Cullen Weighing Run For Governor: Democrat Considering Options As Recall Effort Continues.” The report is enriched by the video interview with Sen. Tim Cullen, if you want to watch it, use this link: “State Sen. Cullen Weighing Run for Governor.”

I valued highly the comments by Greg Peck, opinion page editor for the Janesville Gazette newspaper, cited in the article on WISC-TV News. Greg is quoted, "The Gazette editorial board endorsed Sen. Cullen in his election campaign, and one reason we did that is because he demonstrates he's someone who can work across the aisle.” I think that Tim has demonstrated that ability to work across the aisle in very practical ways since he took office in January this year.

I am sure we’ve JUST STARTED to hear about TIM CULLEN’s announcement of his INTEREST in running for Governor on the RECALL BALLOT. I hope that DALE SCHULTZ is added to the discussion TODAY… I’m waiting… I do have the AUDACITY of HOPE! Do YOU?

Here we go…

Besides the anti Walker stories, will we be seeing pro Cullen articles every day?

THANKS to TIM BREMEL, host, YOUR TALK SHOW for asking SENATOR CULLEN directly upfront as to whether a BI-partisan ballot could be legal for the RECALL ELECTION in 2012. Sen. Cullen clarified that CANDIDATES MUST ID on PARTISAN basis and BOTH Gov. & Lt. Gov. must be DEM or REP. I respect that reality in the AMENDED WI STATE CONSTITUTION. I honestly think it was BETTER before the amendment back in 1967 which made the BALLOT partisan with BOTH Gov. and Lt. Gov. of the same party. So it goes... Here we go... John W. Eyster

Oh no neighbors, friends and families are fighting. The really crazy part of your position, thinking that will end with a different governor in place.

I have a coffee clutch every morning at a local business with a cross section of people and their political party beliefs..... this Walker issue has caused our neighbors, friends and families to fight....and after 10 months of this now, almost everyone is in agreement... Walker needs to be replaced .... an Independent,Dem or Repub doesn't really matter only way our State can heal and were all ready for it....

I know you did, Third_Eye. Tim and the other senators also listed their reasons for taking the actions they did. But that didn't stop you from commenting about what they did. Just as your analysis didn't stop me from commenting.

Let me clarify your comment, please, "emac" - you charge that I say I am not able to LINK to Senator Cullen's website. I did! Re-read the blog post and you will find the LINK for each Senator Tim Cullen and Senator Dale Schultz.

I did report that I am NOT allowed to post a LINK for the Janesville Gazette's feature article last Saturday, December 3 announcing Senator Cullen's interest in running for Governor. I did, however, find the report on Channel 3000 - WISC-TV, Madison and provided a link to that source which has an interview video and cites an interview with Janesville Gazette opinion page editor, Greg Peck. It is my goal to provide links which allow readers to do further research on their own... GO FOR IT, "EMAC"!

I am sure that readers of my WE THE PEOPLE blog KNOW that I do support the RECALL PROCESS. I have reported that IF WE THE PEOPLE of WI had a REFERENDUM process, LIKE OHIO, so that we could vote to repeal laws which Gov. Walker and his legislative lemmings rushed through the process, I would prefer a REFERENDUM. Perhaps Gov. Walker and his legislative lemmings would give WE THE PEOPLE of WI a REFERENDUM PROCESS for the future? WHY NOT? Here we go... John W. Eyster

If... Mr. Cullen can show a little intelligence and not act under the duress of his party for the next 2+ Years at that point he might be a viable candidate. At this time there is so little positive to say about him, other than he would be an effective puppet for the Democratic party. I appreciate the work that Schultz/Cullen have done, but this should not be news it should be common place. Mr. Cullen is not an independent thinker and there is no place for him in Madison until he can get his act together.

I believe the Governor who was duly elected should be allowed to serve his lawful term. You say you can't post a link to Tim Cullen's site, but you have no problem applying your bias to ever article you write.

Tim Cullen for Governor? I think not. He is simply not Governor material.
When the 14 democrats ran to Illinois earlier this year Mr. Cullen was one of them (That alone is a disqualification). After disrupting the political process for several weeks the 14 Democrats came back and Mr Cullen stated that he had been "negotiating" with the Republicans and a "settlement" was near.
He also crowed about how he had urged his his fellow democrats to return.
He didn't have the courage of his convictions to return alone.
He did not show leadership in this failure to return alone.
On the other hand Governor Walker has shown great courage in taking on the iron grip that the public employees have had over the state treasury (ie the taxpayer).
As for John's suggestion to include Senator Dale Schultz in this fiasco, well I'm still laughing too hard to comment.

I do not like the idea of a republican Lt. Governor on the ticket with Tim. How about offering Dale a prominent position in the Cullen administration? There are many good arguments Dale would be most effective in a Cullen governorship right where he is now.
