I want to see Barack Obama ANGRY today! Do YOU?

By JOHN EYSTER   Saturday, July 23, 2011 - 4:04 a.m.

I want to see Barack Obama ANGRY today! Do YOU?

My daily read of online newspapers first thing this morning included hard news articles as well as OpEd columns and Editorials about the pending CRISIS for the USA which, the Washington Post today asserts “boils down to two men.” OUTrageous! Boehner gets higher grades for his DRAMATIC acting while Obama is TOO LOW KEY! What do YOU think?

I suggest you gain information with perspective by using this link to read one of the main news articles in today’s Washington Post, “Debt drama boils down to tale of two men.” OUTrageous!

I give House Speaker John A. Boehner an “A+” as an actor! He is taking full advantage of using the DRAMATIC in politics! Right now, I perceive Barack Obama as too low key and only a “C” actor. What grade would you give these two as POLITICAL ACTORS?

And then I read Alexandra Petri Washington Post column, “Get there at 11, Speaker Boehner! You won’t like President Obama when he’s angry.” Will Boehner be there? Will Obama be angry?

YES! I want to see BARACK OBAMA, President of our USA, ANGRY TODAY! Do YOU?

I think President Obama has walked not only the 2nd mile, but the 3rd and 4th miles. Enough is enough!

I agree with OpEd columnist, Dana Milbank as he warns about the “DEFAULT CAUCUS,” “Dangerous dealings with the Default Caucus.”

I concur with President Obama – cited by Alexandra Petri from his news conference late yesterday afternoon, “’That's what the American people are looking for, is compromise,’ he said. Compromise, and a ‘willingness to ignore talk radio. When I think of the American people, those are hardly the first two traits that come to mind — usually we’re looking for another, Bigger Mac, or some way to make our talk radio talk louder — but let’s go with that.'

“This was not ‘the usual food fight between Democrats and Republicans,’ Obama insisted, as several pies flew telekinetically across the room and hit a man who was busy writing a column about Mitch McConnell’s plan — a plan, Obama noted in the course of the conference, that he would be willing to accept, because Being An Adult Means Taking Responsibility For Doing Tough Things. ‘A lot of Democrats stepped up in ways that were not advantageous for them,’ he told reporters. But they came up against ‘the seeming inability of particularly the House of Representatives to arrive at any kind of position that compromises any of their ideological preferences.’

He blamed pledges, talk radio, and columnists. How could Republicans behave like grown ups, what with the anti-tax pledges they’d taken (largely toothless) or the talk radio (largely senseless) or the columnists (largely shameless)?

“’The American people are just desperate for people who are willing to put aside politics for a minute and …get stuff done,’ Obama said, as his teleprompter stalked malignantly around the chamber, devastating all in its wake.

And then Petri accuses Obama of a meaningless, general threat, “So those leaders had better show up tomorrow — or else. (Miss Manners defines ‘Or else’ as an ‘all-purpose, non-specific threat.’) “

I agree with OpEd columnist Eugene Robinson, "The president shouldn't ask, he should tell." Read the column, "Obama must make some demands on debt". What strategy would YOU use?

I shall be awaiting the news at 11 am Eastern time today. I do HOPE BARACK OBAMA is REALLY ANGRY… do YOU?

Here we go…

SarahB:
The Reid plan has yet to be scored by the CBO. The CBO just scored Boehner's plan, and the 1.2 Trillion he said it cut, was in fact WRONG, and it was only 800 billion...Only 400 billion off there John, ooops...
Basically all I am saying, is don't buy into EITHER SIDES numbers, until they are actually scored by some sort of impartial accounting agency...All the TALK you hear of "our plan will cut X amount", is just that. Often times these numbers are so unclear that the CBO literally comes back and says they can't even score it because it's worded so murky. While often times the projections are based on so much extrapolation of future events that the CBO numbers will be off, as well. Lot of times the projections are based off 3-5% annual GDP growth. Then when a recession hits....OOOOOPS, there goes all those projection out the window.

Yes; I don't think many get what "default" really even means. Most have the facts totally wrong, and are just buying into spin meisters, and are acting like it means the government defaults on the debt (interest) and has no $$ at all to operate. The fact is, that the governmnet has an operating cash flow of around $200 billion per month. Obviously they need much more then that to all their current obligations. So if the debt increase is not passed, it will go to our good friends in treasury to decide who gets paid. Obviously the 1st thing that gets paid is the bond holders. After that, it's anyone's guess on what they decide to shut down. Obviously they'd pick very political things to really stir the public, and assign blame for political posturing.
.
I personally LOVE the grid lock. I have said over and over on these blogs that I LOVE GRID LOCK. I have always asserted that any party has super majority control in governmnet, disaster follows, and your liberties go futher and further to the way side. I really hope they argue this thing to complete stalemate, and nothing gets passed, and it just forces the treasury to find a way to get by with the cash flow they have coming in. Anything that puts a KINK in the Oligarchy's grand plan...The Greenspan-Bernanki-Paulson-Geithner voodoo economic plan of printing your-devaluing the dollar, to fix the problem. Anything that messes with that, I am ALL FOR. So I say GO BOEHNER!! DON'T GIVE AN INCH...He will not win obviously, but he CAN force a stalemate where nothing gets passed, and screw up the fed's grand plan of UNLIMITED $$$$ printing!

President Obama is a class act. He's thoughtful and articulate, and he has a wonderfully cool, understated demeanor. He's elegant. Everything about him elicits respect. He came into office reaching out to Republicans, but they have declined to collaborate with him. What they don't understand is that democracy is all about negotiation and compromise. Nobody gets everything they want. That happens in a dictatorship. And frankly, that seems to be what Republicans want: their way, on a silver platter. Well, voters are going to take them to school in 2012. I just hope the country survives that long.

The devil is in the details on the Reid plan. What is tax loopholes? Home mortgage deduction? Charitable contributions? Close loopholes on the rich? Who is rich? It used to be people making a million a year, then $500,000, now $250,000. Soon it will be down to people making anything over the median income of $49,994 (WI U.S. Census 09).
Reid plan doesn't say anything about reducing the bureaucracy, after they went on a hiring binge the last couple years. Has anyone see a federal worker leaving with a cardboard box after a pink slip? One guy from the Dept of energy says he works 4 days a week, says it a sweet deal. Sure is a sweet deal, for him. The rest of us moos have to sent more money to D.C.
As if 3.6 Trillion isn't enough. Reid plan will rack up another 12 trillion over 10 years while saving 4 trillion.
The way to reduce and balance is by percentages across the board. From 25% down to 19% over 10 years, everyone will share the sacrifice, not just the political winners and losers picked by the president and the Dept. of revenue.

SarahB1 & grandys618--Just because you refuse to see the evidence doesn't make so many in this country wrong, including experts who know how to spot document forgeries. I am including a link here for your perusal. I'm not daring you to look at it. In fact, I'm quite sure that you will not. It's hard to face the truth when you do not care for it. The people who voted for Mr. Obama usually don't want, or don't care to know the facts. They're not concerned about our Constitution. They apparently do not care how many have suffered and died for it. They might as well stomp and spit on it. That's how much they care about it. You can label people like myself "birthers" all you want. But name calling reflects on your intelligence, not mine Sir. Below is the link to which I referred:

First of all, JOHN EYSTER, the person you are calling 'President', isn't legally entitled to hold that position. In fact, Sir, you're just another person whose turned a blind eye to the fact that he presented a faked Long form birth certificate to the American people.

Doesn't it bother you, Sir, that the democrats haven't turned out a budget in 810 days? Why are democrats demanding a spending increase with no offers to balance the increase in the deficit with cuts in spending? Democrats seem to think they can keep on spending with no consequence for their behavior. Sir, I think the American public are the ones who are mad! And with good reason. The spending has got to stop! It's time to begin balancing our National budget. I, as a voter, am mad. I will vote with that anger, and so will many other voters.

A bi-partian bill has been passed in the House under Boehner which is now sitting in the Senate "dead" proclaims Reid. Along with an overdue 800plus day budget. Even so, Boehner nearly had a deal until Obama said "This won't get me re-elected".
Democrats in the Senate will stand together, and will fall together along with Obama in 2012 and that is fine by me.

kiowamohican you hit it on the head. If there is a default it will be the direct result of decisions made by Obama and the treasury secretary, they are the only ones who prioritize what is paid and what is not paid. The raising of the debt ceiling, by congress, only allows the executive branch (obama and geitner) to spend what has already been appropriated. If the ceiling is not raised it will be interesting to witness the spending priority decisions made and the excuses for them.

I give Boehner credit. The way he's talking (on the weekend shows), he's going to hold strong, and it looks like a game of total brinksmanship. I predicted it would be fold city, but that's not how's he's talking at least. Weather he can actually hold the majority house Republicans together is a whole other issue here. Most with actual $$$ are still strongly seeing a deal being made at the last instant. Markets futures are only slightly down as I write this. If true catastrophe was seen, you'd see a monumental sell off.
.
As far as who the better actor is, I'd still say obama. Why should he get mad? Most like a President who is calm, cool, and collected in any crisis (even though this is a BIG TIME over blown crisis). People don't like a President who looks to be a hot head. Hence why Howard Dean went down in flames in the matter of hours after doing a wild scream on the campaign trail, years ago. Most Americans don't like to see a mad, out of control, hot head, president, especially when they control, ohhh the football (nuke launch codes)...
.
Hard to figure what plays out now. No default will happen, that can almost be assured of. There is still plenty of cash flow to pay interest on the debt. A true default happens when you don't even have enough cash flow to pay your creditors interest. We are far from that point. Our AAA credit status will likely be downgraded. However; the fact we are still AAA is a joke anyway. Keep in mind the idiots putting out these ratings (Moody's, S&P) are the ones who gave Fannie, Freddie, and all these MBS's, triple A status as well. Everyone with a brain knows that US is no stable place to put your $$$, with all our debt issues. And it's why countries are not buying our debt like they have been in the past years when we had a very solid-growing economy. It's why your now seeing massive amounts of world capital being parked into gold and very debt stable-fiscally sound countries like Switzerland.. Most with real $$$ in this know the US economy is one GIANT house of cards that's simply being propped up by Bernancki's FOMC's printing press. It's really just a matter of when it all collapses, not if.

I'd like to see President Obama lead today myself, John. Instead, he sits there in those meetings doing his own interpretation of a near-sighted tennis referee who calls every serve out-of-bounds but thinks his position keeps him from offering any serves of his own. Then, when the meetings break down, he goes in front of the nearest microphone and tells retired folks that he can't guarantee they'll get their social security checks next month since none of those schmucks will come up with any good ideas.

It seems that our President has been reading the polls and talking to President Clinton. He obviously thinks that if he can engineer a government shut down that he can then pin the blame on the Republicans for, he just may be able to ride out the worst job performance by a president since 1980. Desperation leads to high risk actions. President Obama is rolling the dice by risking our economy to make his re-election chances better. If Grandma has to eat dog food for a couple of months to make her angry enough to vote for him next year, then so be it. America will be better off in the long run if President Obama gets re-elected, no matter how many people get hurt as long as he can parley their anger into another term, eh John?

At least Speaker Boehner HAS a plan. BHO has NO plan, has never passed a budget, and simply does not understand how to go about doing one.
Again, it is astounding that the dems can go for over 800 days with NO budget. Then the American people are supposed to believe they know what they are doing?

And, as in Wisconsin, it is obscene that that BHO and the unions are flooding the state with millions of dollars to refill the trough for union workers. They don't want to pay for their own pensions or a fair share of their insurance, but they have MILLIONS to continue to fight for their "right" to have the rest of us pay for it.

WHY is BHO so opposed to a balanced budget?

The Gang of Six plan at this point is short on specifics, it is more or less an outline of framework for the plan. According to Bloomberg Business Week "The Gang of six plan would cut the top individual tax rate to 29 % from 35%, establish a single corporate rate and change how foreign income is taxed, eliminate the alternative minimum tax, and bring in $1 trillion in new revenue over 10 years by reducing tax breaks. The plan would reduce deficits by $500 billion immediately and by $3.7 trillion over 10 years. It would overhaul entitlements, in part by switching to a so-called chained consumer price index to calculate benefits. It would tighten the budget process using triggers and enforcement mechanisms to protect against lawmakers with an itch to spend. And it would move toward a simplified and pro-growth tax code."

Obama should be angry? That’s a variation on the guy who kills his parents, then demands clemency because he is an orphan.

Where did this debt come from? Mostly Obama. Where is the budget that should have avoided this crisis? Don’t look towards the formerly Democratically controlled Congress. Well, Obama did float one, which the Senate defeated 97-0. Possibly because it *increased* spending. Where has Obama’s leadership been so far? He hasn’t provided a concrete plan, all we get are fuzzy “leaks” through the MSM which are designed solely to make the Republicans look intransigent.

And today? The AP says: “A visibly frustrated Obama summoned Boehner, R-Ohio, to the White House for a Saturday morning meeting with the three other leaders — Sens. Harry Reid, D-Nev., and Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. … ‘We have run out of time and they are going to have to explain to me how it is that we are going to avoid default’ …” More of that “leading from behind” stuff Obama is so good at, but only after flip-flopping a few times on his deficit priorities. (As a footnote, only AP could paint Reid and Pelosi as “leaders” with a straight face!)

The only way out of the mess we’re in requires massive cuts in spending. There is no other answer. Anything else just kicks the can down the road, as we increase our debt and Obama positions himself for re-election. Obama should be angry only because his emperor’s new clothes can’t conceal the huge IOU he’s trying to hide behind his back.

Why don’t you want the American people to be angry that under current Obama leadership the govt is already borrowing 4 billion per day? Why don’t you want the American people to be angry that the Obama administration wants to add another $20,000 of debt (increase to debt limit) on the heads of all citizens?

Since this administration has taken control, or inherited, it has increased the US debt 40%; now approaching 100% of GDP.

I agree someone should be angry today!

There are some times when one cannot compromise and truely gain the appropriate goal. This country (both parties) have spent money that we did not have, could not raise through appropriate taxes, yet could not seem to stop it. To compromise and raise the debt limit without actual reductions in spending will only ensure nothing really is going to change and we will approach bankruptcy. We must reduce real spending, period. If not now, when?

And as far as Obama being angry, that's all the community organizer (the one with the least experience in the room, regardless of what room he's in) has been for 2 years. Thank goodness we'll be rid of President Clueless in a couple of years.

It's all politics as usual. And you don't like talk radio. Typical. I suppose the next thing you'll advocate banning will be freedom of speech? Heil Obama. What ever happened to
"We the people?" Oh, I suppose it's o.k. if it goes how YOU want it, which is why you advocate mob rules when it suits you, and cry like a baby when it doesn't. Rule of Law. That is what a Republic is founded upon. Let's get back to that, shall we? Start with that, like actually following the constitution rather than blindly following messiahs, and perhaps we can get back on track? Huh?
