I confess – I started to draft a post for my WE THE PEOPLE blog this morning with several political issues on my list… and then I read ANNA MARIE LUX’s “Between the Lines” feature in today’s Janesville Gazette, “ Anna Marie Lux’s “Between The Lines” feature, “Teen shares tragedy to raise awareness about domestic violence.” REALITY! TODAY – THANKSGIVING 2012 – Time to reflect on anniversaries. I AWOKE TODAY with a profound sense of GRATITUDE knowing that today is THANKSGIVING DAY! I HOPE you too awoke with a profound sense of GRATITUDE! Did YOU? YOUR comment? Having just seen Spielberg’s “LINCOLN” earlier this week, I was ready to be reminded by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s editorial, “A respite from war,” that today is the 149th anniversary of the observance of the THANKSGIVING DAY which President Abraham Lincoln asked WE THE PEOPLE of the US to observe on the 4th Thursday of November 1863 when he issued a presidential proclamation on October 3, 1863. Meaningful special day.

Milton Superintendent being PAID - Part II - COMMENDATION and THANKS to NEIL JOHNSON for his conscientious and committed journalism to persist to get the TRUTH, the WHOLE TRUTH and NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH about the situation vis-à-vis our MILTON SCHOOL DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT MIKE GARROW! The headline today is, “Garrow to get paid leave: Milton School Board president mum on further details about superintendent.” IF you are a citizen of the SCHOOL DISTRICT OF MILTON, I urge you to read this significant update on the “MESS” – yes, at least Board President Rob Roy has acknowledged that we have a “MESS” vis-à-vis our superintendent in our School District of Milton. And, we are going to pay through the nose to resolve the MESS. I await IMPATIENTLY AGAIN, the full disclosure of the “MESS.”

Janesville Gazette reports that Milton Board President Rob Roy has told the media that the superintendent is being paid on the extended leave until the end of the school year in June 2013.

Milton Board of Education - I lost my confidence in our Milton Board of Education this week with the LACK OF TRANSPARENCY as it extended its superintendent's leave through the remainder of this school year into JUNE 2013 without telling us - taxpayers - whether or NOT they are paying Dr. Garrow. What do YOU think?

GOOD NEWS: WI Voter Turnout high! Take a look at our ROCK COUNTY VOTER TURNOUT: 87.26! That’s in context with our WI average over the past 6 elections of 60.93% and the US average of 51.6%. I am watching to find out the ACTUAL voter turnout for WI and for the USA. ROCK COUNTY is a high voting county! Did YOU vote?

TODAY is our ELECTION DAY 2012! IF you have not yet voted, I hope you will go to the polls to VOTE TODAY! I voted early taking advantage of the in person absentee voting on the FIRST day of that voting day: Monday, October 22, 2012. I think “early” voting is more and more convenient and therefore more and more popular. What should we do to encourage more US CITIZENS to VOTE?

Are YOU too sick & tired of the invasion of our lives and homes by campaign propaganda from every candidate for elective office which is the MORE OFFENSIVE this year because of the development of the SUPER PACs! HELP! I am among citizens of the US who BEG our legislators – state and national – to SAVE us from another such political campaign cycle! Please!! First and foremost, ROBO-CALLS should be PROHIBITED! ABSENTEE VOTING by mail continues with the ballots mailed or delivered to munisiple clerks next week with Friday, November 9 the mail delivery deadline. COUNTDOWN to ELECTION DAY! The Wisconsin State Journal published a reminder last month with valuable information for persons who need specific factual information. ALERT: Early absentee voting ends tomorrow. Our WI Government Accountability Board report, “Until the end of business on Friday, November 2nd, voters can go to their municipal clerk's office and fill out their ballot.” Be sure to check with YOUR own local municipal clerk’s office for hours! Our General Election is next Tuesday, November 6!
