FL SCOTT AWOKE! WILL WI SCOTT AWAKEN? A very significant AWAKENING took place last Wednesday (2/20) when FL Governor Rick SCOTT endorsed the Medicaid expansion of President Obama’s healthcare law. The Hill’s “Healthwatch” asserts that was a “political coup” for The White House. NOW, I wonder whether or not our WI Governor SCOTT Walker will AWAKEN. What do YOU think?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO GEORGE WASHINGTON!
TODAY is George Washington’s REAL birthday! His REAL birthday was celebrated widely during his lifetime and then became a FEDERAL HOLIDAY already in 1879. Federal law shifted the LEGAL HOLIDAY in 1971 as part of the Uniform Monday Holiday Act to provide for more 3-day weekends for FEDERAL employees. Is that a GOOD reason?

PRIMARY ELECTION TODAY - I read the Gazette’s article yesterday reading the e-edition online here in Clearwater, FL, “Small turnout expected Tuesday” by Frank Schultz. The only state-wide primary is for our WI Supreme Court to select the two candidates for the General Election on April 2, 2013 from the three primary candidates on today’s ballot. Inadvertently, we are contributing to the low turnout today! Disappointed!

HAPPY 204th BIRTHDAY to ABRAHAM LINCOLN TODAY! Today is also the day on which US President Barack Obama will deliver the first State of the Union address of his second term to the JOINT SESSION of our US Congress at the invitation of the Speaker of the House John Boehner. I think it is VERY SIGNIFICANT that President Obama whose 2nd INAUGURATION was held on Monday, January 21, 2013 - our Martin Luther King, Jr. Federal Holiday and NOW the 1st State of the Union Address of his 2nd term will be on the anniversary of ABRAHAM LINCOLN's birth.
