Discovering Democracy IV - CAPITOL HILL DAY

By JOHN EYSTER   Thursday, March 21, 2013 - 3:30 p.m.

Bulletin: Discovering Democracy had a VERY GOOD day on Capitol Hill today.

WE THE PEOPLE of Milton, WI can be TOTALLY PROUD of this Discovering Democracy IV group of 42 students w/5 staffers under the direction of VAL CROFTS on Capitol Hill today!

I observed their outstanding work with our Senators and Representatives.

We were in the Gallery as the US House voted on Rep. Ryan's BUDGET RESOLUTION. PASSED. And then, Rep. Ryan came directly, after the votes, to meet with DD IV in his House Budget Committee Hearing room to respond to a few questions from the DD IV students.

Rep. Pocan, also a member of the House Budget Committee met with the DD IV group there as had been scheduled. A group picture was taken of DD IV with BOTH REP. RYAN (R) and REP. POCAN (D) in their committee room. Both representatives attested that while they disagree on POLICIES, they do work together and EMPHASIZED that they work together for WE THE PEOPLE of WISCONSIN!!

The first Q&A was with Sen. Johnson in the Dirksen building. You should have heard Sen. Johnson when he opened the Q&A w/Discovering Democracy and everyone raised a hand with a question. "YIKES!" Yes, that was the SURPRISED SENATOR'S REACTION!

Yes, the DD IV students did themselves PROUD today on CAPITOL HILL!

This evening we anticipate enjoying "HOLLY DOLLY" @Ford's Theatre.

Here we go...
